Utter rubbish, have you ever tried to watch poor quality SD video on a high res phone screen. It looks dreadful, the reason is simple, because of the distance you view from.
1080p or 720p from services like Amazon Prime, Iplayer, Netflix etc look great. It's perfectly obvious you are not posting from any sort of practical experience. Just trotting out some ill-conceived ideas that you somehow consider to be gospel. Go out and get a recent Samsung Galaxy or Iphone and try for yourself. ![]() |

![]() Youtube is entirely free and has source content up to 4K. Amazon Prime and Netflix don't charge anymore for HD content than SD. Smart phones/tablets can be used as very portable High Definition media players, with the latest ones having pin sharp so called Retina displays. Some even have OLED displays. They also have access to all the free VOD services from the major UK channels. I see that iplayer in particular is likely to be available free across the EU. |

Please desist from using zeros rather than o, it makes your posts even harder than usual to understand. Quite how we got to scr lnb's heaven knows. In any case the Foxsat-hdr will work with scr technology. It certainly has no relevance to this thread.

Phones can be connected to a large screen TV these days ![]() If you have the right TV you can watch Freesat and Freeview (live and recorded content), anywhere in the world with a WiFi service (generally free or low cost) using a free app on a smartphone or tablet. |

To view content stored on my pvrs within the reach of my home network, there is no need to export them at all as they can be streamed directly to a mobile device using DLNA. Before going on long flights and extended holidays, I build a small library of unviewed content on 64GB usb memory sticks. HD produces a much higher quality image. Both my phone and Nexus 7 can play these back directly from USB. I delete them from the pvr after copying and from the usb stick after viewing. If you have a TV at your holiday location with hdmi in, you can use the same devices to view on a larger screen. |

recorded Hello Dolly off moviemix yesterday. ntsc low res widescreen helps disguise faces. dropframe conversion enlivens the dancing. Only the 2.0 fake mono surround sound was ok .......
