Well two out of four isn't bad, cause Jacka isn't here tonight, but I have his votes, so we're still good. Will isn't here tonight either, but I have his comments ready.

Speaking of which, we'll start with the boys and kicking off the show is a boy who has appeared after the storm, it's Rikki Lonely!
http://youtu.be/OF3pFi5TCp8

Will's comments

I didn't particularly like Rikki on the X Factor if I'm honest, but this song does suit him well I think. It's a bit boring for my liking but it fits his vocals and I think some would like it.

Rikki Loney:

Good way to kick off the show Rikki. I always thought you were under rated on the actual show and if this is a small glimpse of the potential that your mentor can reach then I think we can expect bigger things from you.

Well when you open the first live show,it has to be like proper exciting and it can be hit or miss. This was both because yes it definitely fitted your voice but it just fell a bit boring.I know your not really an upbeat guy but it could of been a bit better so I have mixed opinions on this.

[b]We begin with a mixed reception for Rikki, but it is early days, so who knows what'll happen.

First of the girls next and she's in some crazy stupid love (sounds risky!), it's Cher Lloyd!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8tS5UQmNQM

Will's Comment

Cher is another act I remember quite well and while she has moved more away from her rap stuff of late, I know she could still pull it off. Cheryl was of course her mentor on the X Factor and they remind me of each other, so I decided to choose a Cheryl song that suited Cher best. Crazy Stupid Love has a small rap from Tinie Tempah on it to show a bit of the old Cher whilst keeping her newfound more poppy sound of music. She would be great at performing this song on stage too as she has that attitude and swagger to carry it off.

So on the show you were compared to Cheryl but Cheryl dosen"t resemble you I dont think. It dosen"t really suit you.It suited you a small bit but it didn"t really so I was a bit dissapointed with this Cher. I really like you Cher so if you make it next week I hope you improve.

Cher Lloyd:

Okay so this is a unique situation for this show, because essentially for this show we are only in competition with ourselves. So I have not necessarily used the best songs for my own acts when im not competing with everyone else. I understand holding back a little bit but having said that I found this rather uninspiring. I wanted to see you show a sign things to come and what risks you could potentially take and I don't think you showed that here.

Not exactly the feedback Cher wanted, is she already in trouble?

Next is the first of the Overs and he's got a ten tonne skeleton (WHAT?! ), it's Jamie Archer!

Will's Comment

I remember Jamie has a powerful rock artist and this song suits him to the core. It's a catchy song despite the fact I'm not the biggest fan of rock and I think Jamie would destroy this in a good way. Excellent choice.

Jamie Archer:

Truth be told out of all the four artists I was placed with you are much more up my street. I love your controlled rock style and I wanted something that could highlight that. I loved the progression of the song without it being a typical overly shouty number. I am so looking forward to what we have to come from you Jamie

This was on point for you Jamie and a superb song choice.Jamie you have such a powerful voice and this suited perfect well done.

Terrific praise for the rock star, giving himself a very good start to the competition.

Now we have the first of the groups and they're gonna lift thier hopes higher, it's 4Sure!

Will's Comment

I'd forgotten what 4Sure sounded like so had a little listen to them and I can see their harmonies working well on the chorus. This song does get a bit boring in places for me but 4Sure do have good soulful voices in a similar way to Labrinth so it's a good match.

4Sure:

An interesting choice, I remember being a fan of 4sure they had a litte sense of a Motown Vibe to them. There is a terrific amount of potential with them and im very keen to see where you can take them. This song was a little reserved in places like I was waiting for an "oomph" moment...I don't think it quite got there but not an awful choice.

It was a decent start to show their potential and I hope they get the chance to stay next week so we can see how far you can take them.

30-03-2015
Well done 4Sure that was great.I wanted to give you an upbeat song to show off some fun and this really shows what you can bring.Im so impressed.Well done!

A good reception overall, but what do the viewers think of that one?

Back to the boys and I can assure you that he is NOT sedated tonight, it's Lloyd Daniels!
http://youtu.be/5_JUReD3QoE

Will's Comment

Lloyd wasn't the best singer on the X Factor but he obviously appealed to the female viewers because of his looks. I'm not too sure this song fits his vocals to be honest, Hozier is a bit more of a powerful singer and I think Lloyd would be too weak to sing this unfortunately.
The_Voice1
30-03-2015
Well first of all this is a total rule breaker. This dosen"t fit the theme as Hozier is Irish. Then also this didn"t suit you one bit so I wasn"t impressed with that Lloyd.
RabidWolverine1
30-03-2015
Lloyd Daniels:

I like what you tried to do here. Lloyd wasn't the greatest performer in the show and you have tried to take a risk in pushing him into a new more powerful style. Im not entirely sure that it actually suited him, but it shows that you are looking to take him to a place where he can be credible and that is commendable.
Soppyfan
30-03-2015
Mixed comments and a rule-breaker claim to boot, I'll need to get a second and third opinion on that before I take it further, but either way, it's not looking good for Lloyd.

Back to the girls and she is on your head (That's a headache and a half!), it's Lucie Jones!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjiQrGUVYdk

Will's Comment

Lucie was the hardest act to pick a song for as she's the only one of these four girls whose voice I can't remember. So I looked back at some of her performances and then searched for artists that have a similar sound to her. Tiffany Page cropped up and while she's potentially more 'rocky' than Lucie, I think her song On Your Head was a great fit and I'm sure Lucie would do it justice.
The_Voice1
30-03-2015
Hmm...this was mixed for me Lucie. Very different choice. Rockier than usual. But I guess it was okay overall so I guess well done...
RabidWolverine1
30-03-2015
Lucie Jones:

Interesting, it was a powerful number. Very in your face in comparison to what I was expecting for a Lucie performance and I didn't hate it. Obviously its a hard knock life if your eliminated over Jedward (If I remember correctly). Again though it showed you had a real of risk taking and wanted to go down your own route with someone who is normally a softly spoken singer.

There is room to grow but well done.
Soppyfan
30-03-2015
A fairly positive reception for Lucie, but will the Welsh lass be safe or in trouble later?

Back to the Overs and he's happy to be himself (that's what I call positive), it's Jay James!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Tq9r01_BR4

Will's Comment

I liked Jay on the X Factor; he was quite a versatile singer in that he could perform slower and faster songs. As I listen to this I can picture Jay singing it - it actually sounds like him! His softer vocals would really suit this song and I like it.
RabidWolverine1
30-03-2015
Jay James:

Jay you were my only act that doesn't have a huge powerful voice and to be honest I was glad you brought a bit of versatility to the team. I wanted to show a bit of your softer tone with this but the song was still upbeat and catchy and I enjoyed it. I hope people vote for you and keep you here.
The_Voice1
30-03-2015
I really loved that Jay. It was really laid back and really chirpy (but in a good way). That was one of my favourite performances of the night and I wasn"t expecting much so well done.Im really impressed.
Soppyfan
30-03-2015
Fabulous comments for Jay tonight, but will the viewers love that as much as the panel did?

Back to the groups and they want to find love again, it's Journey South!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEl5m8eELeI

Will's Comment

Journey South weren't my favorites on the X Factor but this song is the type they would sing I reckon. It's a good fit but whether I would actually enjoy the performance I'm not too sure. This matches their style though so thumbs up for that.
