Journey South:

Okay an unashamingly admittance time, I loved Journey South and I do kinda love James Blunt. Considered guilty pleasures by some well then fair enough im guilty. I think there is so much that could be done with a group like Journey South and this James Blunt song while not a million miles away from their style....it was just a little off the mark.

I genuinely think it was just missing the grit from the voices of the Journey South lads but again it wasn't the worst choice for me. I just hope they stay in the competition because I want to see where you can go with them.

That was so catchy and such a great performance. Journey South you brought it to the table there and I am so proud.Well done!

Overall, very good feedback, but will they survive and take a few suggestions on board?

Back again to the boys and he can't pretend this is happening right now, it's James Michael!

Will's Comment

James didn't last too long in the X Factor but this song suits him and it works because him and Tom Odell both play the guitar. I didn't love this but I admit it is a good match so well done.

Well this was quite predictable James. Two guys both play guitar both of your genre"s are quite similar so this was too predictable and boring but on a good note it suited you so if you make it next week please try something different.

James Michael:

I'll admit I was skeptical when I saw the pairing of James and Tom. As talented as Tom is, he is known for his rather dreary performances and the impact isn't always immediate. With that in mind you picked a great song from him because its one of his songs that actually has progression and has build in it. While it wasn't the most exciting song in the world, I actually thought it worked really well.

A bit of mixed comments for James, but your votes will decide of he'll get another chance.

Once again to the girls and she wants you to love her, it's Misha B!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIEMcCDkOd4

I remember Misha B as someone with a soulful kind of voice who also loved a bit of rapping. Therefore I felt Stooshe could be the perfect fit for Misha as they can also sing and rap. I picked the song Love Me for Misha because I think her soulful vocals would suit it so much. It's a fun song and with the rap from Travie McCoy it brings more of what she was about on the X Factor to the fore.

That was a fun performance from you Misha and a great first performance. I really love that song and it suited you. The only note I have was that with a band the voice sometimes changed but I still think that was a great performance. Well done.

Misha B:

There are parts of this song that do suit Misha quite well, but it felt like it was missing the Raw edge in her voice and this is coming from someone who wasn't much of a fan. While I wasn't a fan she did have an ability to make you feel most songs in a completely new light and it was slightly missing that emotion. It did have a bit of a fun factor and was not the worst song though, I know you can do better so lets hope Misha makes it to next week.

A very catchy performance and good comments overall, Misha should be pleased with that.

Returning with the Overs and no time to pray to god now, it's Sam Bailey!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vMEjsHv_7E
Note: Calvin Harris is British.

Will's Comment

I love this song but I don't think it suits Sam at all to be honest. I know she'd perform it well with her strong vocals but it's too dancy which isn't her style at all. Vocally it'd be a good performance, but I think it'd be better if sung by someone who has the moves as well as the vocals.

Calvin Harris is a great DJ but seriously Sam,DJ and Sam Bailey they dont match. It didn"t suit you and the vocals didn"t match.Im not really impressed with that performance.

Sam Bailey:

Honesty time, you and Mary Byrne presented a slight problem for me. As your styles are not a miillion miles away from each other, probably not even a hundred miles away. Id say out of the two Sam was able to deliver a more upbeat performance and that is what I wanted to try and focus on. So this song was an admitted risk to see how Sam B would be pereceived in this role.

Makes for an interesting vote

Not exactly the feedback Sam was looking for, but will the public disagree when they get to vote?

Back again to the groups and they're gonna hold back the river (I just don't know what to say about that), it's Little Mix!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_rbWytPvEs

Will's comment

I love Little Mix but I think this is a bit of a slow song for them. They suit faster songs more and although their vocals would be brilliant, it requires less of a performance than they'd want to give I think.

Wow Little Mix. Thats was really amazing Im speechless honestly. Little Mix and ballads you don"t hear that often but that was so good and Im so proud. Well done.

Little Mix:

Ahhh there were good and bad points here. The good points is you found an act that suits them vocally and they can highlight their stripped back performances. Bad point is for me one of the selling points for Little Mix is the fun factor they have in their performance. I felt like this was missing which left me a little underwhelmed. They should be safe for next week but an average start.

Great comments, but some were missing the fun factor, will we get some of that next week?

Round the block one more time with the boys and he's interested in the small things, it's Aiden Grimshaw!
http://youtu.be/mIwyTGHg_t8

Will's Comment

I don't like Aiden; he had a decent voice but nothing special and think he was overhyped by some people. I think he would suit a faster song better than this one and this performance would bore me quickly. Sorry.

Will literally took the words out of my mouth but I will try and make some more points. It just really bored me and I didn"t get anything out of this performance that I liked.Sorry.

Aiden Grimshaw:

Aiden I actually think that suited you quite well. In reality there were times when I liked you but thought you were a little over rated. One thing I did like though was how deep and intense your performances were. This showed it off perfectly, I think its a good starting point for Aiden moving forward in this competition and you should easily make it through.

A mostly spicy reception for Aiden tonight, has he already put himself in trouble?

Once more to the girls and she's thinking out loud (We all do that from time to time), it's Ella Henderson!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp-EO5I60KA

Will's comment

I know Ella's voice well and while she can perform both faster and slower songs to a great degrees, I think she suits a slow song perfectly. This became an easy choice for me; Thinking Out Loud isn't a song I particularly like but when I hear it I can imagine Ella singing it, it just works for me and if she did a version I would potentially buy it.
The_Voice1
30-03-2015
I seen exactly what your trying to do there. Trying to get the weakest our first by giving them a song that dosen"t match their voice at all come on that is so easy to point out. You could easily off given Ella,a Leona Lewis song but seriously Ed Sheeran. This song would suit you but Ed Sheeran really I love him but no way for Ella you should of got a cover Im sure theres plenty out there. Im dissapointed with how you done this to Ella.
RabidWolverine1
30-03-2015
Ella Henderson:

Im a little confused on this. In truth I actually could picture in real life this being a song that Ella could cover quite well, but the direct version of Ed Sheeran not so much. I think you maybe could have looked for a decent cover version but I think it should be enough to keep her in. So not a bad song choice but not a great version
Soppyfan
30-03-2015
Not exactly the best comments for Ella, but will her fans be supporting her tonight?

Once more to the Overs and she has to dream big if she wants to be a star, it's Mary Byrne!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh85gdNPvA8

Will's Comment

Mary had a powerful vocal and this sounds quite like her. I don't love the song but it does suit her style of music and it'd be a good performance.
The_Voice1
30-03-2015
I wasn"t expecting this for Mary. It was an alright performance nothing that special but I guess it was okay.
RabidWolverine1
30-03-2015
Mary Byrne:

I love this song. Your advantage over Sam is for me you can connect with the emotion of a song much more than Sam can. This song was just dripping with emotion and I was hooked listening to every word of it. You may be a classic style singer singer but it doesn't mean you can't have an epic performance and you really did tonight.
Soppyfan
30-03-2015
Good comments overall for Mary, will we be seeing her perform again?

Our final performance is from the groups, so closing the show and they all want to be king, it's One Direction!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRYte8eOcr8

Will's comment

It's well known that I'm a fan of One Direction and I can see the link between them and Years & Years. Is it the best match for them? I'm not too sure about that but I think they'd smash the performance and would have all the ladies on their feet of course.
RabidWolverine1

One Direction:

Its an interesting 50/50 song. I feel like the Verse's were a bit too wide and the vocal range was out of reach for one Direction. When it came to the chorus the harmonies were really on point. It had a feel good factor in the chorus that I could see them perform. So I wasn't a fan of the whole song but if you factor in the chorus then im sold
