Can't raise any programmes on the Beeb iPlayer. At times the screen has a window stating that there is a technical problem and to try later; this has been occurring for a couple of weeks now. Could it be my TV or YouView box which is at fault? The other channels' iPlayers are working normally.

The iPlayer suffers technical issues every now and again.

Check the downdetector website, if there's an issue effecting everyone, the graph will show a peak with the number of reports usually being in the hundreds or more.

Thank you JM- I sorted it out by going to 'settings' then 'device management' and updated firmware thereby; seems OK now. Found it odd that the other Channels were working without the need for similar updating. Anyway, will know what to do in future.

Do you not keep you Youview box in standby when not in use? If so it should have automatically updated iPlayer during it daily overnight check. In this case it was widely publicised that this was an essential update for iPlayer to keep working.

Usually switch it off at end of day. Must have missed the info- couldn't have been THAT widely publicised....
