Denon Amp Control from Sky Remote
skinj
04-04-2015
Hi all,
Have just updated the home audio kit & added a Denon PMA510 Stereo amp under the TV to handle both the TV sound and also the SLB2 Technics deck that I rescued & repaired from work.
Now, having made do with using 2 remotes to control the Sky & previous audio system for audio, I have found out that you can control audio amps with the Sky remote.
I've gone through all the codes that I can find for Denon but none of them work any of the Denon kit I have tried to control, all of which are stereo amplifiers as opposed to AV amps.
The codes I have tried are as follows:
1388, 1132, 0300, 2885, 0032, 1462.

I know that I'm programming the remote properly as I have tried Panasonic codes for a different room and they do operate the Panasonic Hifi.

Any help much appreciated!

*Duplicated to Sky forum too just to hit all bases!

Hi Chris, have tried 0032 & 0188 (forgot to list that one), neither work on the unit at home or a HiFI at work. Any other suggestions?
Cheers

I would imagine that's where your problem lies?.

Maybe, but the Panasonic codes happily work Panasonic stereo amplifiers. I have no way to find out if the ir signal for Denon AV amps is any different to Denon Stereo amps, I'd be surprised, what would be the point?

So you can have them BOTH in the same room, I would generally expect an AV system and a stereo system to use different remote codes (just as you would expect a VCR and a DVD to).
