That's what I was meaning when I said "in the next couple of years."

That's a bit vague.. you'll have to give us more info on your "current DAB".
Are the buttons on it still all functional?
Does it have an aerial that's been snapped off?
Is it on a container ship somewhere in the middle of the Pacific?

A lot of us are vague on lots of threads by saying such and such is/is not available at whatever location we happen to be at. It would be more useful to state where each of us are so as to be more informative for others when developing threads. I am in Derby (good or bad is up to you).

The vast majority of the services you should be able to get on your current set. You will just need to rescan. I imagine being in Oldbury you should get good reception.

There is at least one service which is going to be broadcast in DAB+. You may require a new set to get that - I would wait until it is broadcasting to decide though.

A Twitter page has popped up now. Lyrics to Blondie and Pink Floyd songs being tweeted. Also a tweet about a photo shoot with the presenters having been done.

With Talk Radio information coming out today, maybe more news on Virgin will emerge this week.

Would love to hear Nick Abbott doing some music radio again - sounds like he'd fit this format well. Infsct, a deal with him doing this an TalkRadio would be amazing!

I used to love Abbott in the old Virgin days. However, I read something just earlier today about him getting a Sunday slot on LBC. Damned if I can find it again though.

Well I guess living here in Lowestoft suffolk I won't get any new stuff and in fact will be loosing stations. I guess it will be via an app for me if I want Virgin etc.

There is two tests on D2 one of the tests is broadcast in DAB+.
I can pick up both tests on my Pure Sensia as I found out early the night.
I get 90% of DAB/FM radio stations from the Craigkelly transmitter.

I'm not aware of any radios that automatically scan for new multiplexes, so probably, yes. Maybe there might be a dual tuner DAB car radio that might periodically search for new multiplexes? I haven't had a chance to play with any DAB car radios so I'm not sure.

When you say no new stations, do you mean that Waves and Waves + are not appearing?

If you are already getting Waves and Waves+, you may not need to perform another autoscan. They will probably get loaded onto your receiver if you tune into Waves or Waves+ after the 29th (that's making the assumption we will have those channels up until launch). All my DABs have worked this way.

In any case, it will be best to perform a full autotune after the 29th, and this is what Sound Digital and the radio industry in general will recommend. Chances are we might see an advert on TV for it, at some point.

Just checked again and Waves and Waves + are now there. Thank you

From my contact there, the line up is being announced tomorrow. Tim Cocker ex XFM Is joining apparently. Possibly Breakfast. Shame it's not going to be on FM. I also heard a few people were approached but turned them down.

I'm not familiar with him if he's given breakfast what type of show will it likely be? Is he a breakfast DJ that does 'entertainment' in a morning or can we expect a music led breakfast show? I'm hoping the former.

Tim Cocker is ok, but I'd be disappointed if they don't have a bigger name at breakfast.

Plenty of radio people are following them on Twitter. Interestingly Edith Bowman, Pete Mitchell, Mitch Johnson, Vicki Blight, Kate Lawler and Ben Jones are among them. Kate Lawler has a 'watch this space' tweet with regards to someone asking about her upcoming radio appearances.

Some interesting names there. I'm really hoping for a great radio station again but I'm preparing to be disappointed I was really hoping radio x would be playing the type of music I like and whilst they sort of do there playlist is so small and repetitive.
