Apart from the main camera being 20mp and 4k recording, is it worth it from the M8? can't see anymore improvement on the sound.

I'd say definitely not. Unless you want cat 6 lte then there isn't much point. A lot is actually worse in fact, battery life, bloat, overheating, buttons, chamfered edges etc

I'm going to order one. Much better than the Galaxy S6 IMO.

I'm still on the M7. I so wanted the M9 to be something special, something that took the best parts of previous models and added those to some cutting edge technology (and design). But while it is worthy it is not what it could have been.

Mobile phone technology really is stagnating.

I would have thought the manufacturers would have done as much as possible to distinguish each model, there's not much incentive to upgrade from one to the other if they're identical. A lot of people are just happy with what they have though leading to SIM Only plans.

Back to the question though, considering the fact that HTC are bringing the software features from the M9 to the M8, it's pretty useless.

I'm in the exact same boat. It's not worth the upgrade for me

The HTC M8S might be a good choice... http://www.theverge.com/2015/4/2/832...-price-release

You are missing the point completely. HTC have hit upon the design of the One and are going to stick with it. I have no idea why they are getting stick for this when Samsung have released a S6 that looks almost identical to the S5 from the front.

TThe point is that the M9 is a significant upgrade over the M7 but not the M8 as far as internal specs are concerned. OK the M9 has refined the M8 design and added some significant upgrades such as better buttons and a grippy edge.

I understand what you're saying, but in terms of sales that doesn't always cut it. It's not as though the design's not flawed though, it's still got massive front bezels even though it doesn't need them, Motorola proved that with the Motorola X 2014 and Nexus 6 speakers. As shallow as it might seem to us on here a lot of consumers want the newest design that sets them apart.
