SIM swapping on Three
I am not a fan of cutting down a SIM, I have a PAYG mini SIM at the moment and would like to swap to a trio SIM.
Just wondering if it is possible to request a SIM swap online like with 02/Tesco and Vodafone if I purchase a new trio SIM pack? I am aware of the SIM Activation form on the support site but it is unclear if you can swap to a store bought SIM using the form. I would not normally bother but this SIM has credit on it and the number is easy to remember, it is also unregistered and I don't have a Three shop near by. |

When I switched from a phone with a microsim to a nanosim they swapped them in store free. They take the details, put them into a system and it swaps the account onto a new sim.

I recently got my microsim swapped for a nanosim in anticipation of getting a Galaxy S6.
I called 333 and asked someone if I could do it, he said they could either send me out a nano-sim but my current sim would de-activate as soon as they did that, so the quickest way would be to go into a store, but the store would charge me £5.10, but because my sim wasn't damaged or lost I just wanted a new one for a new phone he refunded £5.10 onto my account which was reflected on my next bill. So I went into my local 3 shop and asked for a nanosim, I had to give them my name, postcode and show them ID. They gave me the new sim and didn't charge me for it. They told me the sim would take a few hours to activate but I put it in my phone straight away and it worked. TLDR; Gained £5.10 by getting a new sim. I think I have the best sim-only contract ever (200 mins/5000 texts/AYCE data) http://i.imgur.com/8NfECM9.png |

I'm not sure if that's 3's official procedure or if that's just badly trained staff, though |

Possibly not. I was with a friend when he did the same thing, and initially they wanted to charge him for the swap, then they said they could cut it for free, then after they couldn't find the cutter they just did the swap for free.

When I changed mine over in store, it was instant. |

Im a Three PAYG customer, I wanted to swop from a standard size sim to a nano sim last year. Popped in to the local Three store & they swopped it over in a couple of minutes FOC.
The actual sim swop over happened in the next hour. If you are going in to a Three store for a sim swop then make sure your details are registered BEFORE you go so they can actually find you on the computer. |

Took my s5 I to shop for nano ready for my s6 and they just cut card down to nano and gave me sim adaptor all for free.
Would rather had new SIM but no hassle waiting for re-connection of new sim |

Thanks all, I don't really want to register really so I may run the credit down and buy a new trio SIM pack.
