Maria Friedman has recently tweeted that she'll be returning to EastEnders again soon. I know Maria has many theatre commitments but would you like her to be a regular character? she belongs in the vic

NO. NO. NO. NO. NO! Can't stand her. Loved her first episode, but she turned into a cartoon after that.

I reckon she will be, and I hope so
She's booked till summer, so if she becomes one, we won't know until autumn i reckon.

There is no need she works perfect as a recurring character.

Also it would be out of character to give up her beloved pub to move to Walford

I think she works better as a recurring character, she is a bit full-on for a regular character, imo. Plus like zerothehero says, it would be out of character for her to leave her beloved pub.

I think it works having an authority figure that lives away from the square, who can come in to help in dramatic situations.

Elaine is good but I think she works because she comes and goes. She's very flamboyant and I wouldn't want there to be overkill.

NO.

It would mean more screen time for the Carters & she's a truly awful cartoon character.

NO. Too much.
She needs to not appear or only in small doses.

Hell no!

Keep her recurring the same way as Aunt Sal is for the Mitchells.

I really like Elaine she's lovely but she should just remain a recurring character though there's no need for her to be brought in full time. Her popping up every now and again to visit the Carters is very realistic.

Yeah I think it'll work well and if the actress is busy with other commitments then it works all round doesn't it

Love her mind

Me too. I can't stand Elaine when she's there all the time. I did like her in November but afterwards, I had enough of her. Her acting performances are too theatrical.

That was my one joke and you stole it

I think the show has enough older ladies now, we need some younger characters.
