Mr T's back next week

I like Annabelle, pity she is only in for a short stint. Didn't take Zosia long to join Daddy's team!!

Darwin is very boring without both Jac and Elliot. As for Adele, the super Detective!!! The sooner Ollie is back the better.

Raf is so much nicer without Harry. He now has great potential as a character. Good to see Fletch with a bit more depth but more is needed...

Roll on next week and the return of the looming Swede!!!

The actress who played Pauline is called Erin Shanagher and she's also been in Casualty in this episode: https://pauseliveaction.wordpress.co...emotional-one/

Holby-wise, I thought this was a bit of a bridging episode between all he departures last week and the expected return of The Looming Swede. I quite enjoyed Nina Wadia's debut - I liked how the character got to work winding up Selfie. I'm almost beginning to feel sorry for him.

Only if she gets pulled up on it which, to be fair, is unlikely - they do monitor patient searches but can't see why that particular one would stand out, it's not as if they share the same name after all (which would ring alarm bells I'd expect). I do seem to remember IT/medical records contacting Jac (when she was torturing Joseph re her potential [pretend] pregnancy after their O.N.S) to say that someone (Joseph - but don't know if they told her that) had tried to access her electronic records but hadn't succeeded because staff members records had restricted access (which appeared to make Jac's mischief-making day!!)

I'm more interested in knowing how Adele was so sure it was the right person from looking at the first page of a patient's records though - her super-hero powers (second sight? omniscience?) must have kicked in again.
And this also seems to be another example of tPtB forgetting to remember that when Mo arrived she didn't seem to have any connections to Holby (her 'dragging you out to the sticks' comment to Jonny) when all they'd have to have done was put a throwaway line about it being nice to be closer to her family again (honestly sometimes you'd think they just make storylines up with no regard for character's back-stories or personalities !)

As long as it's only ever almost!!!!!

Great review, as ever - I'm not sure about the 'wotsit' substitution (I'm sure they have used penis before, when that cheating guy had had his chopped off surely they must have mentioned it??) - maybe they thought wotsit was funnier? Absolutely loved the 'two Dicks-on.... ' line though (and how is it that Dominic is now one of my favourites?? - am assuming they've [?temporarily] abandoned the 'psycho-doc' line they seemed to be going down with him). And it was especially good to find out that Sacha shares our (?almost) unanimous opinion on Mr (Up-Him-)Self-(-ie/ish/-Obsessed/-Interested)

And was I the only one who was confused by Guy vacating his office?? Didn't he say last week that he'd serve his notice period (which for a CEO I'm sure would be at least 3 months) or at least wait till a replacement was appointed? Just exactly who is in charge of the hospital at the moment??? Still not clear on the shift patterns everybody works - or to be more precise the lack of any sort of shift pattern!! Everybody just seemed to be there all day!! Also, can anyone confirm that the cardiac super-centre has now been transformed (just like that, as you do ) into a neuro-supercentre, so Darwin won't now be a cash vacuum, and single-handedly responsible for the closure of St James?? And surely to goodness after you've had BOTH brain AND heart surgery the very least you'd have is an overnight stay in ICU, or at the very least HDU ? Know I'd be very miffed if I woke up after all that and found myself on a bog standard general surgery ward - what do I pay my national insurance for???

And I know they're only small things in what was, I thought, a good episode which I really quite enjoyed but the small things do matter and I just find it annoying (and confusing) when they don't make sense (so sorry for the pedantry!!)

Oh dear, a Fletch-centric episode, one of those ones when they try to pretend he's constantly up against the wire at home after weeks of him being a smug cheeky chappie at work. Actually, he was pretty much a smug cheeky chappy here too, even when doing something nice, I think it's Alex Walkinshaw's default mode. Is there a reason why he's crammed four kids into a tiny flat and forced his daughter to move school instead of just moving back into the marital home? Can he not afford to keep it on or something? Still, Albanin schoolgirl storyline was quite topical at a time when every political party seems to be competing to deny migrants benefits for longest.

So Guy's Self Centre is...a few beds on Keller? Bit of an anti-climax, I was expecting a new set a la Holby Care. Annabelle is good at standing up to him, but I'm surprised no-one suggested a joint op, which would have saved a lot of hassle. Essie moving in with Sacha seems a bit quick.

Adele overstepped the mark but had good intentions. Jesse still exists. The fake identity was obvious, not sure when Mo clicked.

And I made it to the end of the episode before going "Hang on, isn't that Maggie's husband from Casualty?"

Am I the only one dreading the return of Fake Doctor Oliver? Apparently so. Be nice to have Henrik back though.

I'm not looking forward to it as much as I am (already!!) the return of the Definitely Not Fake Miss Naylor (who I noticed was still included on the credits) but do think it'll be nice to see Oli back again.

And would probably be a bit more effusive about Mr H's return - it'll be just BRILLIANT to have him back!!!

If they have Oliver fall for St Adele I will want to slit my wrists. I know i might be jumping the gun but there is nobody else to pair him up with seeing as they don't seem to do cross ward romances anymore and they do like pairing people up don't they.

I woud love Adele to get caught and kicked out but even though their IT department will be able to trace and check all Patient Record access, they won't do so. It would just be too time consuming - probably more of a spot check system so likely she'll get away with it. Or it will turn out this guy has CT issues so elliot will cover for her and say he asked her to do it.

I'm afraid i found last night hard going. Whilst i truly believe no character(s) are bigger than the show, it is an ensemble piece, Jac and Jonny have been the only thing i've been interested in for well over a year so their loss is hitting me hard. I was the same after the mass exodus of season 13 when Linden, Connie, Faye and Joseph all went. Although i could see the potential of Malick, i just couldn't engage with the show for several months.

I really am pinning all my hopes on Hansenn which seems a lot to ask of him.

Interesting comment (or maybe not) in Inside Soap. Henry said Michie now has his old dressing room and he is squatting in Marcel's until her return. I wonder if this is more 'evidence' for my belief that Self will leave at the end of the season. Then Henry can have his old dressing room back as Marcel returns to claim hers?

I didn't find that episode overly interesting. Both the Fletch and Mo stories were continuations of storylines that commenced months ago but were put on the back burner as the dramas which concluded last week took centre stage for most of the last three months. Reverting to them at this stage was so long afterwards that I struggled to really care about either scenario ( not that I found either storyline particularly compelling in the first place.)

Adele was out of order as usual. Also, there was another very anti lawyer reference made on AAU last night, which is the second time in several weeks. The last one being Adele attacking the whole legal profession in the episode Jonny was stabbed.
Do the writers have some problem with lawyers?!

I suppose I found it to be an interim episode between the departures and the returnees. Hopefully all will improve with the return of Hannsen and Ollie. I agree that Ollie will definitely have to have a love interest. I am so hoping that is not Adele. She has already ruined Jesse. Hopefully they will soon have a guest character to be a short term love interest for him instead.

As an aside the new neurology supercentre being one end of Keller is ridiculous. There is a neurology ward!! This would indicate that if anything Guy Self is condensing neurology rather than extending it!

After all of that on the positive I liked Annabelle and hope she may become permanent later. Also, whilst I was not particularly interested in the storyline I think the little girl playing Fletch's daughter is a brilliant actress.

Yes, you accept they have to go, that new characters will bed in and have to be given a chance but it can be really hard.

Honestly the first characters i actually liked and invested in right from the off following Joseph etc departures were Jonny, Mo and Serena. People like Eddi, Luc and Chantelle were okay but never properly engaged me and i felt went properly developed until their last couple of episodes.

For me Holby hasn't been the same we lost Malick, Chantelle and Hanssen. We seemed to lose a good characters in one go and nobody since has been overly great. I do love Dominic though!

Shame on you, Adele! Looking up a patient's medical records like that is at least a sackable offence, if not a criminal offence.

I know it won't happen, but she should definitely face some kind of disciplinary process for that. It is possible to be preemptively struck off before you've qualified, though perhaps the offence isn't as bad as to warrant that - though the dishonesty involved is pretty concerning...

I see from Twitter that there are two new cast members played by Niamh Walsh and Ellie Faninka. Both Catherine Russell and Joe McFadden have suggested that they are followed. Don't see much mention of Lisa Marged who was filming in AAU. Wondering if she was only playing a guest role, whilst the newest two are permanent additions? Does anyone know? I am presuming one of these two newbies will be a nurse on Darwin and perhaps a love interest for Ollie?

How old is Mo Effanga meant to be? Her father Clifford (played by the guy who played Michael, Desmond's eldest son in Desmonds) said his father came over from Trinidad in 1960 and he was born 10 months later which means he was born 1961ish making him 54 this year.

I thought Mo was about 38-40 or there abouts?

Going by what Mo's just said - she's 38 this year.
