Yes, much as I would love Chantelle and Arthur, it is unlikely to happen.

However, I do still think that Jac and Joseph are a very real possibility. Tptb have said that Joseph is intended to be her true love, and they made that clear in her exchange with Elliott, when she revealed that she and Johnny were no longer together.

I have always thought that if Rosie Marcel were to leave permanently (which I hope will not happen anytime soon) that they will either kill her off or have her leave to be with Joseph. I think that they would prefer the door to be left open for her return, so I think the Joseph exit is a very real possibility.

They may be able to persuade Luke Roberts to do a few scenes at some point. Even if they can't they could have a similar ending to that of Luc and Eddie.

I think that is a possibility, even if he cannot appear on screen, they could do skype scenes or just do a Luc and Eddie, as you say. That's what I'm (ultimately) hoping for, anyway

I met someone today called Jack Nayler! I asked him if he's aware he shares his name with a Holby City character - he said yes, he gets that a lot.

He's an actor as well, imagine if he joined the cast... that would get very confusing on set.

I think they're used to it on set. One of the writers is called Elliot Hope (who has also written for other shows like Hollyoaks) and there is a Fiona Naylor on the production crew. I actually suspect they often name characters after members of the crew as an homage or in joke.

It would be funny if he ended up on it though, I agree.

I think they have someone with the surname Effanga as well. They've never had an actor who shared the full name of a different character though, have they? Even if it is spelled differently.

I always found it interesting that on Casualty, Oliver Coleman used to play Tom Kent. If you re-jigged those names around, you'd get the name of an Executive Producer. I've never been sure if that was intended, or just a coincidence. It was just after Oliver Kent left (the first time), could have been some sort of homage to him - for some reason, the producers seem to think he's wonderful.

Watching an old episode of The Bill last night I saw the actress who played the awful
Adele. She was just as bad.

I'm looking forward to Ric's storyline tonight, think it will be funny (as long as you are not a man, then it might be a bit too close to home!).

We do NOT mention that one here. She has been erased from history!

When Hanssen was talking to Jason on the roof, and said 'we have to be compassionate towards them' I heard that as Hanssen likening himself to Jason i.e. autistic. Did anyone else see it that way?
Jason - I'm a huge EE fan, and go to Borehamwood 2-3 times a year - never watched Holby City - but probably met most of the cast outside the studios without knowing, anyway, last year, Monday 9th November I was there again, waiting for EE cast - then this person comes up to me - tells me it's his first day filming Holby Ciry, something about being Jason - and a nephew of Serena something ... he was VERY nerdy - and he said it would be shown in February, so I did look out for it and saw his "debut" - and he's just like that in real life. But very sweet really. Haven't seen it since - EE is enough for me.

The actor is Aspergic in real life and according to an article i read in his first week, they have used many of his specific symptons (not sure of the correct term) with Jason. So, it is unsurprising that they seem very similar.

But still interesting to hear - thanks. Maybe you'll stick with Holby - thought it's not at its best presently it is still a good watch most of the time and improving again.

Jesse was a far more interesting character in that episode than he's been in all of his episodes over the last 18 months put together! Showed how good an actor Don Gilet is and how wasted he has been. Such a pity they didn't try to do something with the character before his exit. In the last six months it was as though they didn't have a clue what to do with him. Hastily moving him from one job to another, one ward to another etc. What was that last move to AAU for his last two episodes all about?

So odd that given their relationship lasting for most of his tenure there were no scenes of him and Adele together before she left. Particularly when their exits were so close together. Also, the fact that there was barely a mention of their cancelled wedding until tonight was fairly odd. Seemed like a very unfinished storyline.

As an aside, Jesse seemed to have some issue with Jac when saying goodbye to the others. Does anyone know what that was all about?

On the plus side, I did think that was a really good episode.

I really enjoyed tonight, it was best episode for a while imo.

Bloody funny when Henrik, even though it was obviously going to happen. Broken willy man was funny too.

don't think I'll start watching it - but weird also, dunno if Jason came by train - he had walked up Clarendon Rd - but if - and he'd been a bit earlier or me later, I'd probably have met him at West Hampstead Thameslink Station - and yes, read about him, curious, and also that he comes from West Hampstead. At least there's now one Holby character I'll recognize. Often see a lot of nurses, still in uniforms, going out for lunch when I'm there. But it was strange, I mean, you're not used to someone coming up to you saying this is the first day of filming - who he was going to play, his real name, when it would be shown etc.

Yes i noticed the somewhat snarky farewell to Jac and thought it somewhat out of order considering that Jac went against Guy (who was CEO at the time) to hire Jesse after self had made him leave after his affair with Zosia and we never saw any falling out. He's had more on screen issues with Hansenn and Ric. But once again, everybody is allowed to have a pop at Jac - it is just considered the norm. Perhaps we must assume he picked up on the Effanga dislike of Jac during the time he must have spent talking with them.

I quite liked his departure - it was nice to see him re-evaluate priorities and whilst it might be considered a cliche, as somebody in her mid 40s that has had to take sabbatical to care for a sick (as it turns out dying) parent and is now concerned about the second one, i think it is very realistic. If you are able to cope with not earning for a while, it is a choice i think more and more middle aged people are making - to spend as much quality time as they can with their parents and caring for them as long as they can manage it in the home. I know that Jesse's dad is not in that state yet, he could have years if his diabetes is managed properly but time spent adjusting him to the condition and life as a widower is a wise move.

Do you think Jac was tolerant/blind to Sir Denis'es incompetence because she was hoping he would fill an Eliott shaped hole?

I don't know, interesting idea.

She probably wanted to believe the best due to his having been a mentor and one of the few people that has (from what was said tonight) actively helped her in her life and not wanted anything in return - at least till now.

Did i hear right that he paid her fees? Not sure how i feel about that. No reason why not I suppose in a benevolent apprenticeship kind of way (I'd always assumed that Jac's education was at least partly funded by academic scholarships - hard to see how she could have financed it otherwise with her background in foster care) but it still seems odd to think of her endebted to one individual in such a way or that he wasn't able to help her more n her career if he'd thought so highly of her and was so influential.

Thought it was quite funny that Jesse had nothing nice to say as well as Jac's smile in response. That they didn't interact much made it funnier.
Moments like that and when she mouthed to Ric what happened to Hansen make her a little more likeable to me.

Ric was really good this episode hasn't been that ungrumpy in a long time and he looks younger maybe it's the boxing thing.

They should do more night episodes makes a good atmosphere and the morning shining shot was beautiful

Ric's smile is a thing of beauty, he should do it more often.

Jesse's departure showed what a waste of a good character he was - totally underused. Even when she is gone Adele is still "right"!!!

Jesse's issue with Jac WAS bizarre - must be the Effanga loyalty working.

I did feel for Mo and was annoyed with Ollie for being such a coward and also thought Jac could have been more supportive. At least Sir Dennis is gone.

Good episode, I thought. Oh, and great news about Marc Elliot joining, I love him!!

I cannot stand Mo, she is one self importantly written character. I want her to mess up so badly she goes to jail. Never to be seen again. HC has lost better and more worthwhile characters than her.
