Well, I was expecting Arthur to die in this one, especially with that really weird to camera speech. Assuming Zosia didn't turn his life support off the end. For about the last three episodes, Guy has been a persistent devil on her shoulder, feeding her information and manipulating others to isolate her from everyone else around her. His sociopathic tendencies are in full force and they seem to be catching, but ultimately neither of them can get Zosia everything she wants.

I'm guessing from the ending that Serena was meant to be right but again I found her very unpleasant. The Dominic storyline would have been okay if that was the end of it but if they're going to drag Lee back for no good reason...sigh.

I was quite confused about the Stent thing. Which was meant to be the 'better' candidate for the balloon Stent? The original patient or Digby? If it was Digby, why did Zosia need to manipulate everything - why didn't Jac just go with it? If it was the other Patient, then it is a dreadful thing for Zosia to do. Also, if they are meant to be monitoring how the Stent works long term, then shouldn't it have gone to somebody who is not terminal? I don't wish to sound harsh, Paliative care is very important and of course i'd want anybody to have an operation if it would vastly improve the quality of life for the time they have remaining but surely a 'better' candidate would be somebody with a chronic rather than terminal disease - both because their quality of life would be improved for longer so better for them and their family and also because they'll have longer to monitor the effectiveness of the device, thus helping to get it validated so it can be used to help more people.

Also, we're they saying that it could have ggot the whole project stopped? In which case all those people that could have had it in the future would lose out, not just today's Patient.

Really, it was about so much more than zosia's career versus friendship.

And, I know the first patient to have it died (again IIRC because Zosia pushed for somebody who wasn't really suitable) but they specifically stated it was a different cause which would have happened anyway and the Stent worked fine so why is it not being deemed a success?

The rest of it kind of went over my head.

I still find Bernie irritating.

In real life, I think that Zosia would have been given at least a warning and, as the psychopath has pointed out to his daughter, Arthur's illness is terminal and so, again in real life, Arthur would not have been given that stent.
IMO.

Zoisa is caught in the middle of the Jac and Guy rivalry and she will suffer and I would not be surprised if she has a relapse.

Is it me or are they trying to pair up Serena and Bernie?

Me too, I really can't warm to her.

Also not really a fan of Zosia either (nor Ollie, but Ollie appears to have improved since they got together) but they were cute when together.

Like others have said, surely Arthur was totally the wrong candidate for the stent. As much as I like Digby - he's not exactly a viable case for it to be constantly monitored.

The theatre thing was weird too - I'm glad Cara got out of there quickly whilst Zosia was watching her strangely whilst stroking a scalpel!

Does anyone know what the music was that Arthur was listening to at the end? He said his mum used to play it to him.
Thanks!

I don't actually think Jac is using her at all. She could have been much harder on her given how Jac has been to juniors in the past and her feelings towards Guy. She could have really made Zosia suffer work wise, she hasn't - if anything she has been including her on projects above her professional level.

I think this is all coming from Guy, he's making it seem to Zosia that Jac isn't supporting her, or wants her to jump through hoops when it isn't the case. The scene with Hansenn at the start made it clear that the Board were thinking of withdrawing funding so her team had to be beyond reproach and with all the Press about Zosia, they had doubts about her. So whilst she wasn't ordered to take Zosia off, if anything had gone wrong at all with Zosia on the team, it would have come back on everyone - Zosia, Jac and the trial would have stopped.

Guy has also meddled with Oliver. I don't know if he genuinely thinks he is helping Zosia (it's possible) or he just wants her isolated so she has to rely on him but it is coming from him. I don't think Jac is using her as a pawn at all.

I think it all ready started in last night episode, I was half expecting for her to cut herself at the end.

Zoshia is definitely heading for a bi-polar episode - poor Cara, run girl, run! Take the job in Belfast and live a long and happy life

I found both Guy and Zoshia completely unprofessional and deeply unlikeable in that episode.

I love Digby but he probably shouldn't have gotten the stent and Zoshia giving his file to the patient that should have got it and making him make that choice himself was just despicable.

They are all falling to pieces at the thoughts of Arthur dying, even Serena, but making bad choices and being horrible people as a result.

I didn't like that episode at all - for many different reasons.

I think you make an excellent point about Arthur's illness making everyone fall to pieces - but I think that's one of the things that made this episode interesting, for me. Everyone has some kind of view or involvement about Arthur - in fact I forgot to mention in my review that Serena and Bernie were also competing over who should look after Morven (as well as who was top dog on the ward and who was right about Jason), so I'm going to go back and put that in now.

The review is here

I did feel for Morven and am beginning to believe in them as a couple at last. Alas, I think time may be running out fast for them.

It's both lovely and heartbreakingly sad at the same time that Arthur's impending death is having such an impact on so many different characters. All the wards will be affected by it

I still can't warm to Morven, but im not sure if its the character or the actress!!

However, when Diggers does die, I think he will die early on in an episode and the rest of the episode will show the impact on everyone in the hospital.
I also think that David Ames will steal the show as Dom's relationship with Diggers is the most believable friendship in any show. And Dom is going to be totally broken and lost and I hope the writers don't suddenly have Dom forget him like they have done with other characters in the past.

Next weeks trailer

Spoiler
Looks like next week is Arthur's last episode.

I find other views/perspectives interesting so thank you for another point of view regarding the whole Jac, Guy and Zoisa thing.

I gather Lee's bird being a patient is try to conclude this particular arc for Dom. Dom is going to be hit the hardest when Diggers go which someone said when this SL started.

I think Jason is a great addition to the show as having Aspergers myself I am pleased that it is being shown. At one point I thought he was getting caught up in Serena and Bernie thing. I do think Serena needs to step back a little regarding Jason as she is being over-protective borderline smothering.

I read an interview with Rob where he said Arthur is taking tramadol which is affecting his thoughts and he is experiencing dream sequences. He also mentions that past characters are coming back so sadly I think that Chantelle and Malick will be a part of those.

I used TrackID & it said Small Memory by Jon Hopkins - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cVTciqYuPY

Released in 2008, so not old enough for when he was small.

That's a shame if it's true, would prefer the real thing.

I doubt they'd come back just for the dream sequences, probably filmed the funeral too.

Oh dear. Next week's episode is going to be so very sad.

I really can't see that they would go to the bother of having
Spoiler
Chantelle and Malick come back just for a dream sequence.

I could only see that if what we were seeing was flashbacks from previous episodes, several years ago.

I think that Zosia, Guy and even Jac didn't come out of that bathed in much glory. I did feel slightly more sympathetic to Zosia, due to her illness, but what she did with the notes was completely unethical.
