I quite like Serena although turning her into a love lorn unprofessional mess over Bernie has put me off her somewhat. Maybe she'll improve when Bernie returns. What I would really like to see is them tackling her drink problem.

With all due respect to the actor and his condition I do find Jason irritating. His constant blabbing of Serena's personal business to all and sundry, his interference with procedure and protocol (eg giving Serena's ex his results, which were wrong anyway) but what annoys me most is that if Serena pulls him up on it he runs off sulking and then she chases after him berating herself and ends up apologising to him!! It drives me mad.
I'm with you re Serena, Collins. I normally love her, but all of this moping around is putting me off her. It is totally unlike her character and I think it's been a bit silly, to be honest. I think they could have been a lot more subtle about it. As in showing her not quite being herself but muddling on through in her normal competent manner, maybe even throwing in a heart to heart with another trusted character. As an audience we would have got the picture on that basis! However, the blatant moping, the repeated wine drinking in work, telling everyone who will listen about her feelings for Bernie, is just ridiculous and does not ring true for the character at all.

Re Jason, I think the actor who plays him is very competent and my only criticism there would be for the writers and not for him. They seem to be regurgitating the same plot every time he appears! It reminds me of when Gemma was in the show and they repeated the same plotline every time her son appeared! I am sure they could think of better things to do with such an able actor!

I've said that about the character of Jason, too. I think the actor is doing a very good job of playing the character, but he's not well served by the writers, who don't seem to know what to do with him beyond one or two ideas, which they keep regurgitating. I know the character doesn't understand boundaries, nor does he have the social skills to realise they're necessary, but Serena really needs to be helping him to learn about boundaries, and to set them for Jason if he's not capable of doing it for himself, instead of patting him on the back and going "There, there," all the time. She's not doing him any favours with that attitude.

Exactly. I would love to see Serena working with him to improve his social skills so that he can do a good job and learn new life skills. That would be lovely. As you and LS have said, Jules is doing a great job acting wise, it's the writing that is letting the character down.

I don't like Inga -- but then, we're not meant to like her, I suppose -- but I can understand her getting annoyed with Mo.

Yes, Jason, you have said something wrong.

Help him to learn that he shouldn't just say whatever crosses his mind at any given moment.

It would have been nice if it hadn't been quite so obvious that things were going to backfire on Dom. *sighs*

I didn't think Serena and Bernie would resolve things by the end of the episode. I thought there would be weeks more agonising to come.

I'm not a fan of Serena and Bernie's relationship. I'm not sure why I don't like them together but I don't. I like Issac and Dom as a couple.

Inga shouldn't have lied. Her and Mr T's relationship will end eventually.

I realise that and I know it will be a very long journey, but it's worth at least making the attempt.

Yes, she's nailing the lid shut herself by doing this.

So annoying and not a good fit for Holby storylines. I also so wish he would STFU.

Just think of all the bedroom scenes to come, both of them in the throes of passion and orgasm and then Jason popps his head into the bedroom , Auntie Serena is she hurting you?.

I just hate the way he is allowed to wander around the hospital, sticking his beak into everything and ruining people's privacy.

I like Berena Campwolfe but it would have made more sense for them agonising for a week or 2 before snogging. But good on them back on. I am iffy about Dom and Isaac as I honestly think something is going to happen which leaves Dom heartbroken.

Inga is faking her pregnancy to keep Derwood. Knowing Soapland something is going to happen at the wedding

Workplace ethics certainly being thrown out of the window last night! Dom should be up in front of HR for his treatment of his rivals for the scholarship (up to and including poisoning them!). Still, as long as it can be covered up by his boss -who is also his boyfriend - that's all right then !!

Yes, I agree, it did seem rather odd that they dragged the Berena thing out for months and then resolved it so quickly on Bernie's first episode back. I was sure that was going to be saved for the Christmas episodes. Still, they do have a tendency to drag these things out for too long, so at least that is it resolved, if a little swiftly at the end.

I think that Isaac is definitely meant to be a sinister character. I am wondering if that could be a Christmas storyline, or whether they are lining it up to be a longer running emotional abuse storyline.

I'm predicting that Mo's baby will be born early, potentially the day of the wedding. That could potentially be the big Christmas storyline, along with the reunification of Zollie and/or potentially Sacha and Essie! Also, Raf's storyline with the patient/sponsor is bound to take a sinister turn too!

Christmas could be fairly action packed, but then Holby actually do have a tendency to resolve big storylines in January, after the Christmas rush, eg Zollie last year and Jac and Jonny's baby being born a few weeks post Christmas.
