Good ep last night I thought. Sacha & Jac have a briliant, platonic friendship, here's hoping they keep it that way.

Just a thought though, are we being steered into thinking a Raf/Essie pairing? How will that work if Essie is desperate for children? She'd be better off with SuperDad Fletch wouldn't she..?

I agree about Jac clearly wanting another child. She is so great with Emma. I think the Jonny in the background references must be to cover that in case Rosie does have a second baby.

Funny how Jonny never mentioned a brother or had him at his stag or as his best man or Mo never went near him seeing as she is besties with Jonny!! He does seem lovely though and he is right about Jac and Jonny being toxic together. Am I right that he is gay? If so could they put him with Dom please and let him be happy for once??

Also, thought it to be odd that Jasmine didn't appear in the episode last night when Jac was seriously ill. Obviously, I realise that they are not close, and that in real life there might not be a lot of interaction between them in that case, but it does seem as though there has been little point in Jasmine being written as Jac's sister thus far, as there has been little or no interaction between them and that doesn't seem likely to change any time soon.
Yes I thought that too, it would have been so sweet if Jas had bought Emma in at the end but I guess they are not quite at that stage in their relationship yet! but it did seem odd that she wasn't involved somehow, guess she just wasn't written into that ep.

Well, Jasmine was brought in early when Niamh Walsh (Cara) left suddenly, so perhaps her storylines with Jac haven't really begun yet. Storylines and how they fit into the overall scheme of things are planned well in advance, so they might not have been able to bring the Jac/Jasmine storyline forward without messing up something else, or leaving them with holes to fill in later. Didn't they adapt one or some of Cara's storylines for Jasmine, so they had that to keep Jasmine busy in the meantime, until her storyline with Jac could begin properly.

Wasn't there something about Essie finding out that she can't or is unlikely to have children?

That does seem very out of nowhere, I think the implication up till now has been that Jonny doesn't have any close relations apart from an aunt, although I'm prepared to be corrected. And yes, he seemed to be making eyes at Oliver.

It is very strange how Jac and Jasmine just hasn't really happened. I thought the fall-out with Ric was setting up for Jas to return to Darwin but they patched things up and she just had that one stairway scene with Jac since they stopped working together. I'm probably forgetting stuff again, but I'm wondering if she even knows about Emma, let alone actually meeting her. It might have been interesting to see her with her "opposite number".

Loved Matteo using the ladies' toilets. I've done it a few times but never been brave enough to do it openly...

The original character profile of Jonny stated that he grew up surrounded by women, lots of aunts and sisters, and thst is why he was comfortable round women to the extent that his best friend was one and Jacs alpha female demeanour didn't intimidate him. Early on screen there were mentions of a sister whose phone call he claimed to be taking when it was actually Jac, and Aunty Carol ehose 60th birthday he claimed to be attending when actually on a dirty weekend with Jac. Both of these to Mo who recognised Carols namse (stating that pne still lives in Scotland) so I think we can assume he didn't make her up. Then there was his Gran who sent him clogs for his birthdayand Great Aunt Agnes who kept being mentioned during the custody battle.

So, whilst his parents are certainly dead, possibly when he was fairly young, there is family but they weren't close by. Hence him considering moving back to Scotland after he got custody of Emma and Jac went to Sweden showing no sign.of returning, so he'd have a largersupport network to help raise the baby.

So, I don't really have a problem with their being a brother we've not seen or had specifically mentioned before though it's interesting he's younger and a bit ofa mini me if their parents did die young as previously implied, but it did seem odd he was having his, elective at Holby as that implies he is local as wouldn't it have to be your closest Trust?

I enjoyed the scenes between Jac and Sacha. We don't often see her laughing and joking with her colleagues, or even confiding in them. Shame she couldn't have been as pleasant with Mr T -- if she'd talked to him instead of snarking at him, they might have been able to come up with a treatment plan she could have accepted, instead of waiting until everything went t*ts up.

I neither like nor trust Matteo. I find his entire attitude entirely unprofessional and disrespectful.

I'm not wild about Isaac either.
I agree with all I have put in bold, which is pretty much everything you put

Yes I really like the Jac & Sacha scenes, there have been a few over the years.

I like Raf, can't really take to Essie so do not want to see these 2 together .....I'd rather they didn't bother giving Essie a love interest, well not unless Sacha is already sorted.

Well this is what I'm wondering, Sacha didn't want more kids, Essie can't have them, they had a decent enough relationship, so why aren't they together any more?

Because Essie still wants kids, even if she has to go another route, such as adoption or surrogacy, to get them. And I don't think it was absolutely definite she couldn't have kids, was it? I thought it would just be difficult for them, and Sacha didn't want to go through the emotional upset of something like IVF when his heart wasn't really in it.

It is on YouTube -- unless the BBC has had it taken down already. It was there earlier, anyway.

I'm sure she got some results a few weeks ago - after they broke up - confirming she was unlikely to be able to conceive ... although never say never!

She did but she still wants kids, possibly adopting or fostering which could mean a lot pf different children of varying ages, including babies, coming into and out of their lives.

I think Sacha is meant to feel that at 50, and children ranging grom 18 to 6, he's had his family and doesn't really want mire, whether they are biologically his, fostered or adopted. Essie isn't at that stage, she wants kids she can actively nurture and step children, especially older step children, aren't going to fill that void.

It's possible. I probably wasn't paying attention, as I'm not overly interested in Essie's ability, or otherwise, to have kids.

I thought you'd know! Yeah, it probably doesn't contradict anything directly, it just seems a bit odd that he's never been mentioned before if they're as close as they seem to be.

It strikes me I've been doing far more criticising than praising, so I thought I'd explain a bit. It's just that while some storylines and characters are compelling, I'm afraid that Essie wanting a baby doesn't fall into that category.

The idea that Isaac may be emotionally abusing Dom is definitely compelling. The Serena/Bernie storyline is also compelling because Catherine and Jemma are both fantastic actresses and I think they're doing a great job of portraying the turmoil of wanting each other vs being uncomfortable about being open about their relationship. The Jac and Jasmine storyline has the potential to be compelling, if it ever moves forward. Essie not being able to have the baby she wants is something that affects many women and it's good they're covering that issue, but -- and I don't know if it's because of the character or the writing or both -- they're not doing so in such a way as to grab my interest.

I found it quite odd that Isaac emphasied his seniority to Raf on the ward. but seemed to take the junior role in theatre. Just found that odd
