A qualified nurse wouldn't even be touching chest drains unless trained to do so.

You'd be very surprised just how rude and aggressive some patients are these days.

I saw Hugh Quarshie in Othello last night and wow it is one outstanding production, cast and crew have created something spectacular. It makes you remember how much talent Hugh has and how he is wasted on Holby.

I would love to see that. Othello is my favourite Shakespeare play.

He is wasted on Holby (and has been for several years now) because they do not give him any decent storylines. When he has something meaty to get his teeth stuck into he really shines.

It is such a pity. I wonder is it money, would it cost them too much to have him in it properly rather than this in and out rubbish we have been subjected to.

Or its his choice. I always presumed it was.

I know we have cycles and have to get to know new characters (for a long time i did not like Spence for example or even Hanssen) but i really feel we are in for a long poor period, judging by the BBC trailer for the summer. We need Jac back as soon as poss and ditto Ric, Spence and better use of Sacha, Elliot and Hanssen. watch the trailer if you want toe see what i mean!

Is this a mistake or this is correct?...Look at the last two members of the regulars on the cast list...

Yes I'd mentioned that before. Will be interesting to see whether it's a mistake or they are in there. Can't see anything in that episode that would require an appearance from them. Perhaps it was a scene they filmed before leaving to be slotted in later?

I agree with the person who predicted we could be in for a poor period. I think we lost quite a few fairly interesting characters all in a very short period of time in spring time, with several big long running storylines resolving at once. So far I've not been compelled by any of the storylines since. Agree they are under using both Elliott and Hannsen who should be focused on a lot more with so many strong, central characters having left. Really can't warm to Essie and her and Sacha are unbelievable as a couple IMO.

Keller is a bit of a non entity at the moment with Dominic and Guy serving purely as bookends and Darwin is really missing Jac and Jonny. I am just not getting Ollie second time round. Also, AAU seems to be in a transitional period at the moment. It's lost long term characters like Mary Claire and Ric. I can't see Fletch being around much longer as he just doesn't seem to work on Holby and I think Digby worked better with Dominic and Sacha on Keller.

Don't like to be negative as I love the show. Understand that it is a transitional phase for the show at the moment so hopefully it will improve.

Agree with everything Little Star says. if only Connie would make the move back. Not a Casualty viewer but feel she would be miles better in HC again.

Every show like this has these transitional periods and it takes a while. When Jonny and Jac came to Darwin Imwas just: WTF. In fact the only characters I loved right away was The Valentines but then I grew to hate Ollie... And then like him again. It will be fine. I think Spence is gone to be honest. Another one, like HQ who really doesn't want to do it full-time anymore.

Essie started off with lots of potential and I do like her, but there's something missing which I can't put my finger on.

Ollie now needs some character development, and I think this will happen from this week, which is good.

At the moment, AAU is the place to be! I can't believe how much I like Raf now after he spent months being really irritating due to all the Amy/Harry stuff. I find the Fletch stuff really interesting too. Also, Serena will always be my favourite character

Going by the preview, it looks like Dom will be getting some development too so that's good to know.

The BBC website also lists them for the episode

Also, I wasn't listening properly, but I think that after last night's Casualty, the VoiceOver person said something, about someone being back, but not everyone is pleased to see the person.

Zosia. They said it was Zosia's first day back on Darwin and not everyone was pleased to see her (voice over man left a gap)... Ollie.

Rosie Marcel won't return to filming until late in the summer and seeing as they now seem to filming up until the end of August/beginning of September, Jac probably won't be back until around Christmas.

If they are also on bbc cast list I am presuming it's not an error and they actually appear in the episode. Considering the fact that episodes now showing would have been filmed when Rosie Marcel's baby was only a few weeks old it's fairly likely it is a cameo that was filmed before she left for maternity and Thompson departed.

Rosie finished filming quite a few weeks before Michael Thompson apparently so she'd already filmed a lot of scenes to be banked up which would have been used in the final weeks before Jac and Jonny's departure.

They film main photography in blocks. So it isn't always linear and extra scenes and pick ups.are probably filmed around availability. I really don't.think they will be in it though.

I find it odd that they are listed on the BBC website as well. They don't usually make this kind of mistake. It would be lovely to see Jac, if only briefly.

I am inclined to think it is an error, but I would love to be wrong in this case. Darwin is dire at the moment but Zosia arriving might liven it up a bit, especially if there is tension between her and Ollie.

I have seen the summer trailer and I am not sure about the summer period. I would not be surprised if something happens at the wedding based on last episode.

Spoiler
I hate Clifford and it looks like he is setting Fletch for a fall and will ruin Mo's heart

I have put this in Spoilers just in case and this was based on the summer trailer

Do Holby have a "one Irish in, out" policy?

Are they trying to say that Tara and Oliver married or she died in June? Both were in April 2013. It's a minor retcon I know but still annoying to me.

That new Nurse fancies Raf.

Could it have been Tara's birthday maybe?

I could stare at Ollie all day. It's also great that he's a complex character so interesting too!

Oh that's possible. I don't remember them featuring her birthday on screen (though i might just have forgotten it) during her year on the show so there's no reason it couldn't be now.

Penny was killed in April too - Oli must dread it now.
