Did he not say that he needed to leave for the money anyway. He was sick of being skint all the time. He said working as a night shift ward Manager in the private sector, would help him pay off his debts and be easier with child care

So does Fletch survive then? Really can't see them killing him off but it didn't look good.
I thought zosia would have been a tad too concerned about Self to be kissing Ollie at that point...

Yes, I was chuckling all the way through and proper guffawed in places.

Loved Dom and the miserable patient. They should have their own show.

As for the plods - thick or what? They guaranteed that it all went a bit Pete Tong with their approach. They obviously forgot that Fletch has hostage experience from his days at Sun Hill.

Really enjoyed that. I love things like that in continuing dramas.

Is Fletch leaving? He said it was his last shift.

Unconscious with a pool of blood round the head is usually tv shorthand for "he's a goner" imo. Ditto bleeding from the ear.

I wouldn't rule out a sub-arachnoid haemorrhage or subdural haematoma, to be cured by old Guy (Who Loves Him)Self though. They're the 2 most common brain injuries in Holby, I've done a study. And it would be redemption for not saving Ron's wife.

To be honest, I found it hard to be gripped by the hostage drama. It's a sign of how few of the regular cast I currently care about that the person I was most worried for was the bomber. I wish that blast had hit Oliver and Zosia a bit harder to spare us that eye rolling make-out session. The police fail to realise that shooting someone doesn't make the danger go away. If Fletch lives, this could result in Mo abruptly changing her mind and deciding she wants him to stay. If he dies...is this leading up to Raf having to look after his children? (Fletch does, after all, seem to have no other family.)

The Dominic and Grumpy Bloke stuff was amusing, although again I found myself hoping a bomb went off under them. Serena calling Fletch "Fletcher" was very strange, as if she thinks that's his first name. Could Guy have avoided all this by behaving like a bit more of a human being or was he going to get clamped either way?

I think Guy might have avoided it if he had been a little more careful about what he said - making it all about him in any way except understanding what it is to lose a wife in an operation (which is a new bit of info isn't it, i thought she just died 'naturally' of the Cancer) was daft. A bereaved man really isn't going to care about the pain it causes the Surgeon, especially if he is perceiving the talk of 'bad days' as an admission that a mistake was made and if it hadn't been, his wife would still be alive.

I don't think Fletch will die, this is just his redemption for the Adele business. I could be wrong of course, that blood didn't look good but they'll be able to get to him quickly to treat him and head wounds can look worse than they are, blood wise.

Hard to believe they managed to evacuate all of Darwin - surely they had people in ICU as well.

I did quite enjoy that, even though much of it was obvious from previous 'imminent peril' type of episodes.

Oh yes, Dominic was great with that Patient. He is rapidly becoming about the only current character I enjoy watching or care about.

I'm sure Zosia's patient has been in an episode quite recently. I'll have to check the actress' name.

I think Ron had every intention of killing Guy regardless of what he said. Why else would he come along with a grenade?

Guy Self is an arrogant, cold shell. How he has such a lovely daughter I don't know. His wife must have been an angel.

Fletch said ICU wasn't evacuated.

This appears to me about Fletch and redeeming himself. As for Mr Guy Self he really should get what he deserves and I do not know if this episode will end his reckless gambles or they will continue.

I like they way Henrik called Dom a liar, good to see that tension not forgotten and the end point is them 2 getting on

We know about the sexual chemistry between Zoisa and Oli but this episode moves this along

Yes I know but i think Darwin has it's own ICU section but the Ward appeared deserted.

It obviously was a possible plan or he wouldn't have brought the Grenade, as you say but he might have backed off on it if Guy had said the 'right' things. I'm sure he knew that he would be endangering people as well as himself and Guy.

Basically, he didn't have to let it off even though he'd brought it with him.

In guy's defence (not often I say that), i don't think he was just avoiding Ron out of cowardice but because he didn't know what he could say to help and feared making it worse as the situation was too close to home after losing Anya. For all his smooth talking, political machinations and ability to convince Patients to risk Surgery, he is not a 'people' person and has a lousy bedside manner with relatives.

It does and it doesn't. As in it doesn't but patients would not be awake on the wards an hour after heart surgery. Accuracy of drama.

Dom needs to learn not to care what Henrik thinks about him as a person... Growth.

Hopefully this is the end of Seb. They can't drag that out much longer... Or can they?

Zosia's line about just wanting to cut into people was hilarious. She had this demonic look in her eye. She has been a lot better (mental health wise since she has been on Darwin). And obviously she has been very open with them about her issues. You see Seb is really beginning to try and control her. He would be controlling everything soon and actually I don't think that's what she needs. Her and Ollie seem good for each other.

I wondered when Ron told Fletch to handcuff him to Self, if Fletch responded almost immediately by firstly handcuffing Ron and then quickly moving across (as if to handcuff Self) but handcuffing Ron's other hand.

Dom and the grumpy patient were absolutely hilarious - the stars of the show.

Zosia and Ollie snogging in the midst of the bomb was not good.

And far from being heroic imo Fletch was selfish and foolhardy - he has four motherless children living in poverty and he goes and puts his own life at risk?? He is an absolute moron.
