landlord or landlady in any soap? Why?

CS Beth & Kirk give them something to do apart from eat.
EE Ian Beale
Em Alicia would be good

We have zero atmosphere in some of these pubs and I don't mean stick on a karaoke night. Poor Steve is depressed. Linda & Mick have 15 storylines in their head when serving their punters. Chas is the best one. I would drink in that pub. Her voice could do my nut in though.

Cora would be fab. Her brief moment behind the bar celebrating her pending wedding to Stan made her look right at home. Cora Carter, we salute you. Cora Cross Who?

I always thought Cora would be great as the Queen Vic Landlady.

I think Sharon will get the Vic back eventually.

You need to be an A lister to run the vic, which Cora is not. She can be employed as the cleaner though

After the Carters leave, I hope Janine Butcher takes over the Vic. It is HER home and she has always wanted the Vic. I think Sharon will get the Vic back but not for a long time. Maybe 10 years later. I think Ronnie would make a great landlady.

I think the Albert should be turned into a coffee house rather than a bar.

Beth would be fun to see behind the Rovers, not sure about Kirk though.

Janine would be terrible in the Vic - as a character she is too abrasive and unpopular; she'd end up banning all the locals/regulars then having to sell which would probably lead to the Mitchells taking back over. I like the fact that when Janine left she'd "won", I don't want to see her fail again.

I haven't watched Emmerdale since Kim Tate flew off in the helicopter, so I have no idea what the Woolpack is like, but in my opinion the pub ought to employ someone apart from the owner/landlord's family as bar staff.

The Rovers nominally does this, but apart from Sean - it's mostly Liz, Steve and Michelle behind the bar and has been since they took over. Before that it was Stella, Gloria and Eva.

The Vic's bar staff are all Carters - I can't remember the last time we saw silent Tracey - before that Alfie and Kat/Roxy seemed to work every shift (which made sense as Alfie was just about clearing his rent to Phil). At least the Mitchell's used to employ other characters as bar staff.

Out of the current characters, I can't think of anyone else who'd really fit as a new landlord of the Rovers - Beth would be an inspired choice for a barmaid though - and really the Mitchells, including Sharon, are the only other contenders for the Vic.

Although, if Tanya was to make a full time return I think Max and Tanya could make a go of the Vic; they'd have to employ a staff as I can't see either Abi or Lauren (assuming she returns) working there and it would open up some new stories for the Brannings and their staff.

I reckon Tommy Moon and Lily Slater should run it. A hard, hard man, sticking his little mask on to see off any trouble, whilst Lily is working the bar.

Max and Tanya in the Vic would mean Cora would be in there too most likely.
