Why the doctor should kill Missy
Sara_Peplow

Remember what 11 said in Town Called Mercy ?. Something like "Today I honour the victims his (Jax) the masters, ... all the people who have died because of my mercy!".

Doctor really should deal with Missy when he has the chance not let her escape or get the better of him (again!). I know they have a long and complicated history. It will not be a pleasant or easy thing to do. However that does not mean he shouldn't do it.

Doctor is the only other time lord around. AS the only person who has the ability to stop her one could argue it is his duty to stop her hurting or kill anymore innocent souls human or otherwise.

Plus how would he explain to Clara and Kate that he has let her get away with her crimes including murdering Osgood when he could bring her to justice ?.

Hopefully S9 will be on our screens end of August and we can see what happens next. Got a feeling she will be in the finale too.

I think the lines you're thinking of explain the reasons quite well!

Quote:
“DOCTOR: We can end this right now. We could save everyone right now.
AMY: This is not how we roll, and you know it. What happened to you, Doctor? When did killing someone become an option?
DOCTOR: Jex has to answer for his crimes.
AMY: And what then? Are you going to hunt down everyone who's made a gun or a bullet or a bomb?
DOCTOR: But they coming back, don't you see? Every time I negotiate, I try to understand. Well, not today. No. Today, I honour the victims first. His, the Master's, the Dalek's, all the people who died because of my mercy!
AMY: You see, this is what happens when you travel alone for too long. Well, listen to me, Doctor. We can't be like him. We have to be better than him.”

The Master died at the end of Last Of The Time Lords and again at the end of The End Of Time Part 2 and Missy died at the end of Death In Heaven but he/she keeps coming back to life.

The Doctor was going to kill Missy In DIH to stop Clara from killing her, but The Doctor was beating to the drawer by the Brigadier-Cyberman

IIRC we don't know what happened to the master in the end of time

Quite right, we didn't.

They should try and get John Simm back to film a Saxon regenerates into Missy scene. That might be fun.

The Doctor and Missy could work well together.

Missy- Sit down Doctor, there's a seat beside me
(Missy pats seat)
The Doctor- I had to run for the train, can't you tell?
Missy- You look a little windswept but that's what time does to you, messes with the hair.

It has to be a gritty death.
No weapons, just the doctors bare hands around Missy's throat.
His eyes bulging with anger, burning rage and fury as he stares directly into her eyes and squeezes the breathe from her lungs.
And no returns this time! Dead for good!

Why?
Couldn't Missy help The Doctor, make amends for what she has done in the past, learn from her mistakes? Would be such a turnaround, why can The Doctor be angry for something that may not have been her fault if looked into more detail?

^I see your point and I've considered your suggestion.... but no.... violent strangulation wd be best.
Plus it would harken back to Colin Baker strangling Peri.

I'd imagine Moffat has been trying his best to get Simm back for a regeneration seeing as how he says he is the type of fan who wants to see every regeneration. Claire Higgins who played a the member of the Sisterhood of Kairn who give McGann the regeneration drink is reprising back for Series 9 so I think it's highly likely she we will see a Saxon to Missy regeneration. It could go down like this,
A dying Saxon Master goes to Kairn in search of the Sisterhood, he forces them to give him a regeneration drink and they trick him by giving him the woman one, after regenerating she kills the sisterhood.

That's a nice idea - but I think the bigger question is what happened after End of Time that allowed the Master to escape.

The question is why would they trick him into becoming a woman? What difference does it make? The Master was never about physical strength at any rate, so the typical advantage a man might have would be unimportant anyway. If anything, becoming a woman did The Master a favour, as it helped disguise her identity until the perfect time. And Time Lord's hardly seem caught up on gender changes either, it doesn't seem to matter to them.

It's a family show, so aside from the fact they never show The Doctor kill, they're also not going to show anything as remotely violent as that.

As for 'dead for good', it's like Sherlock and Moriarty, and you're always going to have both. Even a 'permanent' death can be unwritten later on and likely always will be. It's personally my least favourite element of character writing, and cheapens the idea of death, but it's just how it's going to be. The Master and the Daleks, and possibly Davros... they'll always be around so long as The Doctor is.

Maybe, by the end of next series, the Doctor will have even more reason to want to kill Missy.

Some people seem to believe that Missy will be responsible for the death of Clara this year, although that might just be wishful thinking on the part of the Clara-haters.

Maybe Clara will kill Missy. She nearly did last series.

When Jacobi Master was killed he seemed pretty miffed he was killed by a girl so as far was the Master is concerned gender does matter.

I get the impression the Master enjoys being Missy.

I do to but I doubt it's something Saxon Master wanted to happen. Just like when The Doctor was forced to become 3, he started off being unhappy at the change but eventually came round to it.

Good call.

Also 10 was a right wuss when it was his turn to go, but 11 had an absolute ball.

I think deep down, both characters would really struggle having to personally kill the other. There were instances in the classic series where the Master stopped the Doctor from being killed on the spot, and we don't know for sure if Doctor 12 would have actually "killed" Missy or whether he would have been unable to do it.

Let's also not forget that The Doctor was essentially tortured and abused for an entire year by The Master in Last of the Time Lords. He watched The Master wreck the Earth (including burning Japan, assassinating the President and slaughtering one tenth of humanity), not to mention causing long term psychological trauma to the Jones' family. Even after all of that, regardless of the fact it were rewritten, The Doctor still cried and lamented the loss of The Master. I don't think The Doctor could ever kill The Master... his pacifist nature mixed with their complicated history means it's something The Doctor could never do.
