Lasted so long?.

I'm just really curious... These 3 males and other characters have never really done much, especially Sean in the past what, 5 years?

Why do you think their contracts are always renewed, and why do you think they stay on for so long, despite not getting much work?

Would you like to see more of these characters, or is it time they moved on?

I'm curious, because I find it weird how characters like these are never axed.

Fatboy and Tamwar are good characters. They just aren't used to their full potential. IMO, when they are given proper material, they step up.

I think that Fatboy and Tamwar really deserve some decent storylines. It's about time.

I don't know about Sean because I don't watch Corrie.

I really liked Fatboy when he first joined in 2010. The show was more watchable, as it hadn't been ruined by Kirkwood/Newman back then. I thought the character was a real breath of fresh air. Under Kirkwood & Newman we saw pretty much no development and he remained a spare part, until he became deadwood eventually. For that reason, it was quite weird that DTC didn't axe him, along with AJ, Poppy, etc... Fatboy has had a little bit of material since then, but still continues to play a minor part, which makes me question why he's still on the show.

Tamwar is similar. The Masood's were always a joy to watch, when Zainab was around. However, Tamwar was always pretty boring even when Zainab was around. Since she departed, Tamwar has for me been even worse, but I do see potential in him. I just hope Zainab returns, one day.

Tamwar has because he's always had a family around. Even without zainab he was there for masood and the underdeveloped aj before shabnam strengthen the unit. He's not really a great character but he is mainly support anyway.

Arthur probably as a box tick for people who talk lyk dis before becoming a good support for dot.

I think Fatboy sounds so fake especially as he mostly hangs out with a pensioner. None of his other friends talk like that. It just sounds so put on. I quite like Tamwar. He's a bit of a nerd and is quite quirky. I'd love for Zainab to return. I think Tamwar would improve with her to bounce off. As for Sean in Coronation Street, just why is he still there?! I absolutely cannot stand Antony Cotton's acting.

Because viewers like them. Digital Spy is not representative of the entire audience. I hear many people, in real life and online, who really find the characters funny.

Do I personally like Fatboy and Sean? No, but I have enough self-awareness to see that my opinion doesn't count for everyone.

Good post. I think that people forget that there are viewers outside of DS, that watch the soaps.

Yes, I agree. A lot of users online do really like them. It is strange though, every single producer has never really done anything with the characters and it just feels like they keep them on the show for the sake of it.

Funnily enough, the only one that really did anything for Tamwar was Kirkwood!!!.

Arthur and Tamwar are a refreshing change from the pretty boys who's sole purpose is to bed the next pretty thing, get drunk and argue with their family/neighbours. Arthur loves Mrs B, is loyal to his friends and is a good guy. Tam loves his family and is respectful to others. Maybe that makes them seem dull, but not all young men go round mugging, cheating, getting into punch ups, killing and raping.

I agree. I used to hate Fatboy but since his friendship with dot, his character has become nuanced and a lovely, decent supporting character. Tamwar is hilariously deadpan and a vital part of the masoods imo even if at times it's more a supporting role.

I agree. They're alright. I don't rate Sean as a character though.

I used to love Fats when he was initially just friends with Whit. He used to play doll's houses with Tiff and play prince to her princess. He has a lovely way with young and old alike. If I was a young woman on the square I'd snap him up It seems that they prefer being treated like sh!t by some egotistical hunk.

He really does. Whitney was mad to ditch him for Tyler goon. I hope they find him a nice lady. I completely agree with you regarding the women preferring horrible men but that's sadly true to life.

i cannot stand antony cotton either, he comes across as really false,he cannot act at all,i think the reason he is still there is cause he knows where all the skeletons are buried, he must have something on the directors, hes not still there for his acting talents.dont mind fatboy/tamwar compared to sean they are actors of shakespearean talent,as you can tell im not his greatest fan
