I posted this same comment elsewhere. Simon would love it if one of the judges on his shows did a Natalia. Of course he would feign outrage, but in reality he would be rubbing his hands in glee at the controversy and media attention.

Part of me wouldn't be surprised if he was happy with the international outrage this created considering only die hard Non-New Zealanders would watch it, the whole thing has been wonderful publicity for a show I didn't even know existed before the incident

Actually, I don't think Simon would like it if someone made Natalia like comments on the UK X Factor. Yes, he loves controversy of course, but there is a limit. The press attention from the Natalia Kills incident did more damage than good.

As far as I know, Simon doesn't have any say on the judges for the international versions of X-Factor. Once the rights to the show are sold to another country's TV network, they make the decisions. The only reason he had any say on the US show is because he was a producer.
