Also, I agree it'd be interesting to see a solo male companion for a short time (even if only for one or two episodes). Just to shake up the dynamics a little, have some variety. I don't think it'd be a great idea for an entire series, but could be fun for an episode or two.”
There was indeed an element of father-daughter in the Doctor's relationship with Clara last year and I hope they play with that next series. They could have other characters
mistake them for father-daughter. There
is a similarity. It's the eyebrows.
Whilst Clara is nowhere near as big a goody-two-shoes as Susan (she lied to Danny so she could travel with the Doctor in secret, and what about her shocking treatment of the Doctor at the start of Dark Water

), but I'd hardly call her rebellious.
Rebelliousness in the Doctor's Daughter would be a gung-ho attitude, always thinking she has a better plan than her Dad, always answering back, wearing inappropriate short skirts and skimpy tops and flirting with every handsome young man they encounter on their adventures.
As for the Doctor travelling with just a male companion - I don't think I would like that at all. I think we need a female influence on the Doctor. It doesn't need to be a
young female; the Doctor worked well with the slightly older Donna. In fact, now that we have an older actor playing the Doctor, they may be an argument for pairing him with a slightly older companion, although you need to watch you don't alienate the show's young audience.
I think they got away with the Doctor and Donna because Tennant's Doctor was quite young and trendy, Catherine Tate probably had a big following amongst schoolkids and there was a bit of the big kid about Donna with her occasional stroppy attitude.
