Looks like poor ickle Deano is now the victim and just to remind us of how lovely he is he's going to pull his Shirt up to show us his bruised but still fit body. So yeah, let's forgive him as how dare anybody beat up this poor, misunderstood RAPIST. Because he's so pretty.

If this is what they are planning in an attempt to redeem the character and give one of the worst actors the soap has seen a new contract just to satisfy the viewers who fancy him, then this will be the end of the road for me and Eastenders.

But he's so misunderstood which excuses him months of harassment and rape of a woman. Poor widdle Dean and his tears - I blame Linda for this, that selfish whining cow spoils everything with her refusing to just get over the fact that he pinned her to a table and raped her.

Sadly physical abuse happens a lot in British prisons - look at the cigarette burns and cuts Dean got last time and he was only guilty of perverting the course of justice back then.

Obviously there is no excuse for the barbaric way Dean treated Linda and he does need his comeuppance for that but I am still sorry that a) He lost his granddad whom he was close to and b) that he was badly beaten. It sadly reflects the judgemental climate of British prisons and given the brutality of it, it's hardly surprising that prisoners harden and go on to reoffend - it's just a vicious circle.

Ultimately the only way Dean can truly be redeemed is if he admits what he has done and shows guilt and remorse plus gets some kind of punishment, but it is good that they are showing that things are not black and white in life and it's not a case of Dean himself being evil just because the crime he committed was evil.
