Okay. So if killing Stan and Jim in the same week wasn't stupid enough, now they have to have their funerals in the same episode?
Really not happy about this. |

If Stan's funeral over shadows that of Jim's then its a total insult to all viewers of the past 20 years. Jim was a legend and deserved a send off to reflect that.
I'm starting to get very bored with the Carter show. |

Jim was not a legend but I agree Stan's Funeral should not overshadow his exit.

Jim was a legend. Jim purposing to Dot was voted the greatest TV moment of all time in a Radio Times poll picking the greatest TV moments from the 00s.

Ok now, there are times when I think maybe, just maybe I'll wait until the episodes air... but Stan and Jim's funerals in the same episode!? As another poster put it I can only assume/hope that the a low-key send off is reflecting his family's wishes rather than just a pure insult to a much-loved actor and character. Even if that is the case surely they needn't shoehorn the Carters as front and centre of the very same episode? Totally weird decision.

The timing of this is so poor.
It's bad enough that Kat's story was pushed to the sidelines with Dean and Buster's return. Now Jim's funeral isn't going to be the only one in an episode. An insult to a notable and long running character. Let that episode be about the Brannings. Don't relegate the Carters by any means (they're still a good family), but giving them top billing at everyone else's expense really takes the biscuit. It's about sharing screen time. DTC's obsession with them just because they're *his* special family is starting to irk. I don't think even Santer was this attached to the Brannings who around 2007/08 were dominating. |

I'm still curious about the thinking behind having Jim's death shoehorned into another death storyline. It must have been a request from the family to keep it relatively low key because EE usually goes all out for stuff like this.
I think Stan's funeral will solely be Carters there and Jim's will be the big send off, but still - I wish it wasn't a plot device to advance Dot's prison storyline. Kim lying...probably about the whole gangster crap she claims she saw? She's such a fantasist I usually just assume most of what she's saying is lying and filter out the true stuff from that anyway.

Not another Carter "shock". That is so old now.
Stan's funeral will overshadow Jim's. |

Very disappointing to see Jim's funeral is being overshadow in the same episode as Stan's!
Surely he deserved a bit better then this at least a one episode solely dedicated to him and The Brannings. 'Secret' and 'Shock' both words should be banned from using when concerning the Carters!! |

I wonder if Ronnie will tell Aleks about what she heard? And that's how Aleks finds out? I'd like to see Ronnie scheming from her hospital bed. Quote:

I'm seriously no longer going to watch any of the Carter dominated episodes, they bore me to tears. Just going to catch up on iplayer and skip through all their scenes, they only exist in their own bubble anyway so I won't miss anything I want to see. They are completely killing my enthusiasm for EE right now.
