It means that from today, UK smartphone users will only be able to take out a 3G contract with O2.

Vodafone now offers just three tariff groupings with customers able to select varying amounts of 4G data.
Prices for Vodafone’s Standard Bundle start from £17 per month for 500 mins, unlimited texts and 500MB of 4G Data. Red and Red Value contracts start from £26 per month with unlimited mins, texts and 2GB data while Red Value plans.
Customers on Red Value Bundles and 12-month Red 4G SIM-only plans also receive access to Spotify Premium, Sky Sports and other content as part of their plan.
Customers are also being offered large data bundles with the Samsung Galaxy S6 available with 4GB of data for £44 per month when trading in a working Galaxy handset. The S6 Edge is also available with 8GB of data when trading in an old Galaxy handset for £54 per month with a £9 upfront cost.
“Our customers told us that they wanted more data and access to our 4G network, regardless of what agreement they are on,” said Vodafone UK consumer director Cindy Rose. “Whether they’re passionate about this season’s must-see boxsets on NOW TV, the latest tunes on Spotify Premium, or keeping up to date with all the action on Sky Sports Mobile TV, they can do thanks to our 4G network and bigger data allowances.”
Vodafone EuroTraveller which allows customers to use their UK allowances for £3 per day in certain European countries is also included in all tariffs.
The operator’s Fixed Price Promise means that it will stay the same for the duration of the contract length.”
