Your Favourite EastEnders Character - 10th Anniversary Edition (Round 2, Group 5)
What a round that was! Everything was to play for right to the end, I was almost certain I'd have some tie-breaking to do. A very strong group knocks out some extremely popular characters as our favourite bitch Janine takes the lead once again.
Group Four Results 01 | Janine Butcher – 80.0% 02 | Zainab Masood – 70.9% == | David Wicks – 70.9% 04 | Phil Mitchell – 65.5% 05 | Max Branning – 61.8% 06 | J-B's Lauren Branning – 45.5% == | Bianca Butcher – 45.5% == | Peggy Mitchell – 45.5% ------------------------------------ 09 | Jay Brown – 41.8% 10 | Linda Carter – 36.4% 11 | Lucy Beale – 34.5% 12 | Nana Moon – 32.7% 13 | Billy Mitchell – 29.1% 14 | Lola Pearce – 27.3% 15 | Syed Masood – 21.8% 16 | Jill Marsden – 20.0% 17 | Peter Beale – 18.2% 18 | Pam Coker – 12.7% 19 | Carly Wicks – 9.1% 20 | Charlie Slater – 7.3% The top five were pretty much set in stone early on, but most characters featured in the top 8 at some point in the voting. Overall, I'd say we've probably got this one just right in my opinion, but that's up for debate as we lose the likes of Linda, Syed and Jay, who misses out by a whisker - he literally got knocked out by the last few votes after remaining a fixture up at the top throughout. It's interesting to note how Lucy has now taken back her place as the viewers favourite of the Beale twins in the year following her death, after seeing her popularity plummet when Hetti took on the role. I agree she's been fantastic in the aftermath, and gave a stunning performance in the flashback. While Ben Hardy has always proven popular as Peter, Lucy still got almost double the votes he received, despite his obvious assets. It's nice to see, just tinged with a bit of sadness as Lucy is gone forever. However, both twins still fail to make it, falling victim to the strong lineup. We move on to the final group of round two now, before we head into round three (you're in for a treat there, prepare to make very difficult cuts!). In the meantime, here you go. No less than four former winners here. Group Five Bobby Beale Ian Beale Bradley Branning Dot Branning Stacey Branning Charlie Cotton Tanya Cross Jase Dyer Martin Fowler Sonia Fowler Denise Fox Glenda Mitchell Sam Mitchell Minty Peterson Mandy Salter Emma Summerhayes Dawn Swann Patrick Trueman Dean Wicks Kevin Wicks Once again, vote for your EIGHT favourites from group five. Voting will close Sunday. |

Dot Branning Stacey Branning Charlie Cotton Tanya Cross Martin Fowler Denise Fox Patrick Trueman Surprisingly easy one, I thought that time. Sam Mitchell loses out because of the (re)recast - Martin makes it in on the strength of the recast alone. If I could have done, I'd have voted for Stacey seven times (obviously leaving one vote spare for Denise) |
