Samsung S6 best way to charge?

I know they say it's better to slow charge a battery in a mobile phone, so it got me thinking. I have the wireless charging pad for the S6 and it charges much slower than the quick charge plug and lead, so would it be beneficial to leave it charging on the wireless dock over night instead of plugged in?

I'm after getting the best out of my battery as it's not replaceable that easily, as it's gotta last me about 2 years.

Thanks.

I didn't think the S6 had the (Qualcomm) fast charge feature?

However in response your question, I have found it be better to charge the battery at non fast rates, I only ever use that fast charge feature when I am running low. Though that seldom happens, the majority of people put their phone on charge overnight, so what you are looking to do with the wireless charging is probably ideal for you.

There is a school of thought on two sides, some say the phone/battery accepting a higher power input and thus charging doesn't damage the battery or shorten its life span.

Then again given the technology and battery type is lithium ion based, it compares against those batteries in hybrid and electric vehicles which use the same kind of battery shortens their life span if the faster charging festure is used.

Anyway to the point, what you propose to do is probably one of the more sensible options to ensure your battery lasts the 2 years. Although I should add, seeing as the battery is now enclosed should the charge not hold as well, it guarranteed for the two years from purchase date.

I don't think there is a best way to charge. Evey day for years and years I have come home and charged whatever phone I have at that time at night when I go to bed. So far not one phone has ever needed a battery replaced even 3 years later on some phones.

We agree

It is very unlikely you would go through the battery recharge cycles within a 2 year period and the phone circuitry controls the charge anyway. The reason wireless chargers are slower is purely the inefficiency of that approach.
