Has energy gone again?
Energy will be back on-line in a few weeks with a new streaming address. The previous streaming server was becoming prohibitively expensive for the high level of traffic we had on the Energy stream after the hosting company changed it's plans from maximum listeners to a data transfer based monthly limit.

Facebook page now created for Coast FM and news on the website of its return on 01 June to 102.5 and 104.5 FM.

Online appears to just be automated output. The jingles are the same with the IDs updated to the old strapline of "classic hits and the best of today" along with "Tenerife's best music".

Certainly sounding well at the moment. I've always enjoyed Coast's imaging and find it sounds much slicker against the likes of Oasis who are let down by poor IDs.

Ferreteria Goyo adverts are quickly back on! They must pay a fortune in advertising!
Has Coast FM gone again? I see the 99.2 channel has now been taken up by Reef FM and there is nothing broadcast online.

Coast is still online, i'm listening to it at the moment, maybe they were down earlier though. I presume no return for energy after all, a shame.

Coast is still not playing from Tune in and hasn't been for a few days, can you tell us what stream you are listening too?

That's great although this link does not seem to work:
http://94.76.216.200:8260/listen.pls

The sound does seem to be clipping quite a bit, I noticed this on Tunein last week before the stream went off.

I have emailed tune in to see if they can update the streams (not as easy as it once was)

It's working for me.

I did notice that earlier on one of the streams but they seem to have sorted it (all though i have only dippped in and out today so maybe it's only on certain songs/adds or whatever)

I see. I must check again but i'm nearly sure you could update a stream if you registered an account on there.

It became clear the company we were using for 99.2 was not able to provide a reliable service. 102.5 is from our own engineered site and is not affected. We have canceled the 99.2 contract and are in the process of establishing our own broadcast facility to replace 99.2. Despite being intended for west Tenerife, our 102.5 service gives good coverage around the south of Tenerife due to it's high power and site location.

With regard to streaming, all should be working as normal and I have just tested the tuine-in stream but if you are having problems with any stream in particular please drop an email to studio@coastfmtenerife.com. one of the problems with Tune-in is they are very slow to respond to stream updates and I believe still list a stream that hasn't been used for several years under certain searches.

With regard to Energy, this will be returning as 'Coast 2' in the next few weeks. Just concentrating on the new broadcast site to replace 99.2 first.

Thanks for your update just to let you know the stream below is clipping at times. the other two seem fine

If Coast 2 does launch what type of music will it have? Also will it have DJ's or be fully automated?

The clipping is still present on the Tunein stream, very annoying when listening through headphones on your mobile! Tried listing when I was out for a walk earlier and the clipping was so bad I couldn't listen anymore and ended up finding Reef FM on TuneIn which looks very promising, like the music which is geared towards dance music.

It that to do with the NRJ/Energy radio group chasing it's copyright to the name in Europe as it did in Bournemouth?

That should be the stream clipping sorted. The stream listed on Tune-in was one of our original webstreams. We installed new Optimods when we put a system in to split south/west ads and ID's and that streams seems to have been left running from an old processor. This has now been changed so the clipping should have gone. let me know if it's still an issue.

With regard the format of 'coast 2' , this will be automated commercial dance with specialist syndicated weekend dance shows the same as Energy was

The name change was purely an internal decision and not related to the NRJ issue in England a few years ago. The name 'Energy' is still used on the IOM so I assume this has also caused no problem with NRJ.

I don't think they've ever gone after Energy FM IoM, so I think it was the NRG / NRJ similarity that was the problem.

Just had a chance to check the Coast stream on Tune in and just to let you know that it's just a blank carrier at present. Hope you can sort this out soon. Thanks

All 3 streams I have for Coast are running but with no output. Is the station still on FM in Tenerife?

The 3 streams are were playing what I believe is the Energy news bed a few minutes before 11pm! Then we had the news at 11pm, Then playing (THE NEW) Horizon FM Jingles on Repeat! For a few minutes, now we are back to the Energy news bed!

Not very entertaining but I suppose its an improvement on the silence we have had for the last week!

Whats going on @underground_88?????

It's still the same today on the streams, a long news bed followed by the horizon jingles.

Coast streams still seem to just be playing a clean feed of the news on the hour. Did not hear any jingles before or after the 09.00 bulletin.

Not been able to get Coast on the FM. Ocean is a new one that's popped up and that's quite good.

Shame about Coast, seemed promising with the return; maybe there are just too many English stations on the island going for the same audience. Ocean has been around for a year or more I believe, mostly staffed by ex Coast people I believe from after the sale of the original Coast.
