Oh man! Really like the show. These forums are actually putting it on a downer for me. Maybe I'll just watch the show and won't contribute to forum. Used to be fun

It's right at the end when Amanda says 'It was brilliant, a great variety act'

I love SCD and often feel the same as you but its your forum as much as 'theirs'.
I use the 'ignore' button (a lot) and f/f through the negativity.
Don't be disheartened and you'll manage just fine.

Returning to topic, I couldn't care less about the editing because I enjoyed the whole thing so much last night.
The programme fulfilled its remit of entertainment and that's fine by me.
Why on earth watch it in order to find faults?

I love the fake audience reactions. How coincidental that a camera man and sound person are standing right next to a particular audience member at exactly the right moment when they give the person next to them a look or glance

I also think that certain people need to understand what a "discussion forum" is for and that not everyone shares their point of view. If you can't handle that and only want gushing praise of something then yes, I think this place probably isn't for you

Last night simon said after that male singer was on he's the best we've seen so far. As far as we were concerned he was the first.

The fake and OTT shock reactions are why I don't watch this tripe anymore. It's aimed at the moronic masses who actually believe those reactions are real. I don't want to be part of that club, thank you.

I thought he meant the best we have seen ever on BGT I'm not sure I would agree (as I couldn't give any names of who was better), but his pronunciation and singing accent grated a little for me. I was surprised to read the almost universal accolades for him on twitter - which seemed to be in accord with what Simon was saying.

If you not used to this then you not watch enough shows to realise this is how they do it in all shows especially recording live, or scenes where they can't say 'oh we need to do that scene again, exactly the same', they have to add footage if something not come out right, or cam looses footage or something, it happens alot

The whole show is pretty fake but I think we all know it. No harm in sharing OP

All shows are manipulated to some degree by the Director showing you his vision, however deliberate fakery of audience reaction inserts make for sour viewing for some viewers.

It is understandable that the judges have to redo 'spontaneous' comments occasionally. Everyone is on a journey, over emotional, with a tragic back story or just a very silly hat.

Viewing figures are down, maybe some viewers have had enough of the editing.

Are the audience members "talking" about acts real or plants?

This. I went to the top 50 auditions for X Factor the year Joe McEldery won and we had to record a fake standing ovation three times

I've always assumed they are real, but they aren't necessarily talking about the act they are shown talking about? So they might notice certain people are more responsive towards the acts, so film them to catch good reactions, then fit them in wherever they think they work best?
