EE Chrissie return
Who here wants Chrissie Watts to return to EastEnders? The character has some unfinished business. They never even got to show her trial for Den's murder, which was a shame. She brought a sense of fun to the show. I think she would fit in well in the EastEnders of today.

I liked how she also brought a glamour element to the show, something that is missing now with a sea of chavs and tacky clothes in every scene.

I love Chrissie but the show struggles to give equal time to the current big characters as it is so I would rather they wait til the show rebalances and do something worthwhile with her. Besides I'm sure Buster has a mum, dad, several siblings and ten kids that we're all dying to meet!

Why would Chrissie return to the place were she murdered her husband, the only people who she has any links to are Sharon, Phil and Kat and they all hate her because of her role in Den's death, a great character but she has had her time.

There might just be a time when the right story comes along.

I think for a short stint would be awesome but not sure right now would be good, too much in balance with cast and storylines.

I loved Chrissie, but I'm not sure about a return right now....she'd probably be obliged to sleep with Max.

Really don't understand the opposition to it on here. I know the era she was a part of wasn't one of EE's higher points but the storyline itself was easily one of the best of the last 10 years.

(Nancy).
Yes and Kat, Whitney, Lola, Tina, Linda (hit or miss and too 80s), Shirley, KimI mean its like nobody has discovered the high street, Ronnie is about the only one that managed to dress in a way that you could bring her out for lunch or dinner, Lucy had potential in this regard but she's dead. I mean surely there must be a Zara in London they could frequent occasionally rather than Kat's stall. |

Much as I loved Chrissie, I reckon that lightning only strikes once and she was very much a product of her time. Sadly there would be no reason to bring her back. Her and Sam single handedly carried EE on their shoulders in 2005, making it a stellar year. We're now almost 10 years removed since that huge storyline. Walford has moved on with many new characters and storylines.
I feel as if her story came to its conclusion when she was sent down for Den's murder. She has no links to the Square anymore and those who do know of Chrissie want nothing to do with her after her web of lies. She killed Sharon's dad, tried to frame Phil's sister, risked implicating Kat's daughter and pressured Stacey into a false alibi. Those four characters alone would hound her out of the Square if she tried to return. The only motivation she'd have would be to reclaim the Vic and I doubt that's going to happen again. |

Why? She is not a iconic character and serves no purpose to the show

It would be good if Sharon found her Dad had regular meet up with him and after a few meet ups she met him at a bar. He is standing at the bar and says Sharon I'd like you to meet my wife... The woman next to him paying for the drinks turns around with an evil smile and says..... Hello Sharon duff duff ....... It's Chrissie

i wouldn't say no, i think it should only be a guest return though, maybe Sharon goes to visit her in prison when she finds out she's being released or something

I liked Chrissie and I wouldn't complain if she returned but I really don't understand why she's considered to be an iconic character, I mean if she returns fair enough but if she doesn't it's not something I'd get overly upset about.

What about Chrissie being in the same prison as Dot?
Sharon could see and confront Chrissie while visiting Dot and Dot could attempt to convert her to being as good a Christian as she is. |

Chrissie was one of Louise Berridge's best character introductions (she's the one who brought Stacey plus a host of brilliant characters, despite her turbulent time as EP in 2003/04), but sadly she's had her day. She was Den's wife and her fate was ultimately tied to him. It was only a matter of time before she'd be written out via a murder conviction. |

Another chrissie comeback thread. I suppose the last several were forgettable in reminding us people want her back
She worked well as a short stint in the show's worst period imo But she wouldn't work now and has no major ties. She's hardly iconic but then this is DS, and I am sure even Denise Van Outen's character will be labelled Iconic soon. I don't think people really know how to use that word on here. |
