No offence but if you think you can do better, than why don't you audition and show the judges you can?

I thought the dancing was intentionally a bit rubbish as part of the 'gag'

It was so obvious from the outset they were going to undress. Ever since the calendar girls, women of mature years have been getting their kit off.

Don't see any harm in it, if it raises a few quid for a local charity; it's all a bit of fun. But it is getting a bit passé now.

I liked the act for it's either intentional or unintentional rubbishness, (I like rubbish acts, throw stones at me), but the guff about empowering women, by being proud of their bodies, etc, was slightly irritating.

They seem like nice ladies having fun, and I wish them no ill feeling, but please don't make out that nice ladies having fun, and getting down to their pants is anything more than that.

Like any act engineered from the ground up as populist, it's got a core of bulls*****.

It's crass maneuvering to position them as "ordinary people doing something extraordinary" (rather than something foolish), thus getting people behind them voting based on it somehow being patriotic (Union Jacks on their knockers), brave (because middle aged women stripping is being played as such), "fun", etc.

It's rubbish. Harmless enough I suppose, but annoying it how popular it will be.

I think a lot of you are taking something that is simply a bit of fun waaaaaaay to seriously.

Lighten up.

Why should we?

The criticism of this act isn't any more harmful to the universe than having something this trite and annoying out there is.

Because I don't think we're good enough for national television and I wouldn't want to risk looking foolish.

People weren't laughing with the ladies, they were laughing at them.

I wasn't laughing at them. I was appreciating the talent that they have.

Then you know what... Carry on being negative. If that's your outlook on life - have fun with it.

It was supposed to be a bit of a laugh.

"A bit of a laugh" has been used to excuse a lot of things in this world.

Frankly Simon wouldn't have a job if all he did was play nice when mediocre or awful things came on a stage in front of him and all he did was react with "it's just there for a bit of a laugh".

That's why I don't get that "if you don't like it why watch" type of argument in regards to this show. You're watching Simon Cowell's show. "It's just a bit of a laugh" is the very opposite of how he's made television for the past few decades. Not that Simon is immune from pandering to the audience. He did so here with his "I think I buzzed too early" and his turnaround on the act. But we also know all along that when Simon doesn't choose to pander, he's far more negative than a few of us here noting that the act seems silly, patronising to women overall, jingoistic, and kind of crass.

It was crap. It wasn't even funny.

Trouble is we have seen it before. As soon as they came out dressed like that we all knew they were going to strip.

Same as the choir. Simon made a joke about them being the smallest choir (despite the visible benches in the background) and we were meant to be shocked when hundreds more emerged from the wings.

Might be a laugh and I did enjoy it but it's not 'talent'.
