Yes they would. That's why you have to state the category.

Presumably would, I guess that's why they ask them to declare what category they're answering in.
Surprising Christine was pointless - or maybe it isn't to be honest, it's a well-known novel but on reflection I probably wouldn't have known who directed the film...

That has happened. Someone attributed a film to the wrong director. If they'd picked the right director it would have been a Pointless answer. Can't remember the film and the directors involved.
Incidentally - according to the Radio Times, we're back to repeats from next Wednesday (apologies if anyone has already mentioned that).

When they first introduced the three options questions in the final round they accepted the answer for any of the questions, it was only later that the insisted the contestants stated which category the answer was for.
