It would be nice to have a science round that wasn't won by rote learning of the periodic table. The lady who went out said "I don't know much about chemistry" but it's very likely the contestants getting zero and one also know little about chemistry.

I wonder if they check out the contestants interests beforehand and tailor the questions accordingly.

My tv guide states that Wednesday and Thursday's shows are repeats and then Friday a new episode..Obviously that was not the case.
I would have thought that anyone coming on the show would have seen earlier episodes and done at least a bit of research on the staples of elements, US presidents, general pop music, football teams, countries and so on.
Spending a few hours memorising some of these would probably be very beneficial. It seems some contestants are totally unprepared.
I had Astatine and Ytterbium as pointless so I'm pleased.
