Rachael Neiman, also blind, has been on University Challenge and Mastermind (more than once). So the BBC isn't just "allowing" blind people to appear - I think that's actually an odd choice of word. I think people with disabilities are actively encouraged to take part on most quiz shows - not just the BBC - and they make special provision for them.
