EastEnders - Kat or Stacey - who is the bigger character?
Out of all the Slater's, Kat and Stacey are without question the two that have made the biggest impact in terms of popularity and storylines, not to mention Jessie Wallace and Lacey Turner are both exceptionally talented actresses.
But which one is the biggest chatacter, in your opinion? Kat is most famous for the 'You ain't my muvva' revelation, the iconic red lipstick and leapord print, and her relationship/marriage to Alfie. Stacey is most famous for the Stax Christmas 2007 reveal, her relationship with Bradley, the bipolar storyline, and the Archie killer reveal for the 25th Anniversary. But which is the bigger character in your opinion? Which has made the most impact for you personally? |

Kat isn't as big of a character as Stacey, no, because she's only ever been associated with Alfie. Kat & Alfie are bigger than Stacey, but Kat on her own is nothing.

That's a tough one.
I would say Stacey is the bigger character though and I think she's also a more rounded character. |

I would say Kat is the bigger character because she is considered more iconic and her biggest story and romantic pairing are more famous and popular. |

Not much in it but Kat has the more iconic moment. That's not to diminish Stacey's moments though.

Stacey on the other hand, has had several. |

'You ain't my muvva' is definitely more famous than any of Stacey's moments. But that's the only famous scene Kat has really had
Stacey on the other hand, has had several. Stacey has Stax reveal and Archie reveal but I don't think any other scenes are famous. |

For me, Stacey. She was absolutely fantastic 2007-2010. Kat hasn't been as good since 2010.
However, Kat is definitely the bigger character and is far more iconic. |

I love both characters and I wish they were both being used better. Stacey is quite boring compared to the dynamic character she used to be and Kat's story is not being written properly when it could have been brilliant.

I love both of them but I'd say that Kat is more iconic than Stacey BUT I think Stacey is a bigger character than Kat.
BUT I hope Stacey gets BIG storylines this year. It is absolutely a disgrace that Stacey is a glorified extra

Kat is definitely the "bigger" character if by "bigger" you mean more famous, iconic, legendary etc.
The "better" character is much more open to debate. Kat was the star of the first half of the 2000's and Stacey for the second half. Both were very good characters. My own personal preference is for Kat (2000-2005) who I found more consistent than Stacey, with more light and shade and more different colours to her as a character. I found the Kat and Zoe story more interesting than the Stax affair, and I like how Kat could also enhance other characters stories rather than just star in her own. It helped round her out further as a character. Stacey, of course was a very good character too and certainly much better than the 2010 onwards Kat. Under DTC I don't rate either particularly highly. Stacey is better written, but I think Kat is more entertaining so right now I'd put them on level terms. I'd probably rank them like this: 1. Kat (first stint) 2. Stacey (first stint) 3. Kat (Newman) 4. Kat/Stacey (DTC) 5. Kat (Kirkwood) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I will forgive that comment, but only because in another thread you said you didn't become a regular watcher until the Branning era! ![]() ![]() Kat joined Eastenders in September 2000. Alfie joined in November 2002. Kat's biggest story the Kat/Zoe/Uncle Harry story was 2001. I would say Kat was arguably at the peak of her popularity during the John Yorke era before Alfie was even created, she was an incredibly popular and important character in her own right. Kat became iconic through that Slater week of episodes, not because of her love affair with Alfie, popular as that was. |

I'd say it's difficult to compare them.
I'd say Kat is the more iconic and was well established long before Alfie came along and has had some epic storylines but so has Stacey so i'd say they're both quite big. I like them both and they hit off each other really well. |

I'd say Kat as she has reached the iconic status and is part of one of the most iconic couples. Stacey is still growing into an icon ink but she's very much a major character.

I prefer Stacey, but think Kat is probably the bigger character.

Is "iconic" the current forum "in" word - it's used a heck of a lot on here at the moment, so much so it has lost its real meaning.

Too close to call. Both excellent in their own right. I think Stacey might be slightly more popular with the public because she's played by Lacey Turner.

Kat is easily the bigger character.
"You ain't my muvva" is probably the most famous EE moment behind Den and the divorce papers. |

Stacey is the bigger character. She literally owned the show in 2009 with her bipolar story and after. She has been a more consistent character and more dimensional than kat.
Both excellent actresses btw. A side note would be I think lacey in more inclined to step in when she thinks something is really not in her character, unlike jessie, who seems to go with whatever. |

I think Kat is bigger, but Stacey is more popular.
I also think that Lacey Turner is the better actress |
