She just seems to have take on the role of being the new baby's mother without even thinking about what Faye wants.
OK we know Owen leaving immenently but still no need to have her being just so annoying with her dominance of everyone's life. Surely she should have talked with Faye about what is best for both her and the baby?
Anna is just so annoying.

She is being extremely selfish, and Debbie Rush's acting is making her worse.

I think Anna just wants that baby as her own and she's not considering Faye's needs or wants at all. I'm sure when she went down the fostering/adoption route it was really a baby or toddler she wanted (not a school-age child) ... and now she seems to have what she always wanted. She's a selfish bint and I can't understand why the writers seem to think she is likable in any way or form.

The powers that be at Corrie have a weird idea of what makes a good character, hence the dross who populate Corrie at the moment.

It seems the interesting characters leave and we are left watching the dregs, Sean, Michelle, Anna, Izzy, Faye, Gary, most of the Nazir's, Chesney, Sinead, Faye and Andrea.

Couldn't it be as simple as it's more appropriate for an adult to handle a baby as to why Corrie have gone down this route of Anna monopolising the baby

I wonder if she is for the axe, they are certainly making her very unlikeable.

Anna wanted Owen when he had a successful business and a house. Now he is penniless, because of her son Gary, she no longer wants him. She has now seen benefits signs twinkling, and she is going down that road. She will probably get a nice new council house, rent- free of course.

Anna was very selfish as she didn't even bother to make a special meal to welcome the baby home.

I agree. Horrid character.

This is exactly what I was thinking. She said recently that she would have liked to have had Faye as a baby. Now she's got what she wanted, a baby of "her own" when she isn't hers at all. I think she's selfish and her desire for the baby contributed to her wanting Owen out of the picture because he tried to make Anna see things from Faye's point of view and brought up the subject of adoption.

Spot on, this is the child she really always wanted, and now we will see Faye ignored/sent to live with her Dad while she bonds with the baby.

I can see one possible outcome here that could be different. The father of the child and his family have a DNA test done, and decide they want the child - to which Faye agrees, and the SS woman (aware of what is happening) backs up. Now that would be interesting should it be allowed to happen?

Did anyone notice the smug satisfied, know it all grin Anna broke into after Faye told her that she had had sex with the boy because 'she wanted him to like her'!

I thought that was pretty weird, ie, sick.
Why the hell would she look so content to think that poor Faye has so little self esteem that she would have sex with a boy while she's still barely through puberty just to try to please him?

Also the very fact that Faye had the opportunity to have sex with another kid is something that a good parent would have ensured was unlikely to happen in the first place, as I'm guessing that most caring parents of young children, like myself, know what kind of world we are living in and are very protective and taking care to know where are kids are at all times. Anna is one of these people who makes no effort to be a fairminded, decent or reasonable person and simply screams down anyone who would wake her up to the fact. She's a cheap stupid lump in my humble opinion

I think Debbie Rush is a very good actress but Anna can be very hard to like at times, but that's down to the writing. I get the feeling a lot of her reactions to the baby have been written this way to facilitate Owen's exit.

But I guess it is likely that a mother like Anna might react this way to her young daughter having a baby - Ian and Jane seem to be going down a similar route on Eastenders. is it because Faye is adopted that there's more of a reaction?

Even children of caring parents have unplanned pregnancies!
No matter how caring you are, you will not be able to keep your eye on them all the time!

I think that if your child is well reared and feels loved and respected and you are involved in their life, realistically the likelihood of them getting pregnant at such a young age is very very low. If children are having sex at twelve or thirteen it's a fact that they may be being sexually abused.

I completely agree. Also it's equally unhealthy to keep teenagers under lock and key. I agree with the poster who said teaching your children to respect themselves helps and I think being open about things like sex and contraception helps. If they feel safe talking to their parents they will be less likely to hide a pregnancy. A lot of teenagers are full of raging hormones and in a lot of cases if they do have sex it's with another teen rather than with an abusive adult.

The look was one of relief, as prior to that she was worried that Faye had been a victim of child abuse by a man.

Faye and Jackson made a terrible mistake in sleeping together but at least they both made that choice, they weren't forced or coerced into sex by someone inappropriate.

I don't believe Owen wouldn't have gone away with Linda when he had the chance. Although she was far too good for him.

All him and Anna do is row, look miserable, moan about being skint, moan when someone's offering them help, order others about and bully characters like Roy and Craig.
