Is HomeChoice worth getting ?

Hi All,
I've just done my research and found that homechoice is the most cost effective solution for combining TV, Broadband and Telephone currently in London. My current uses are Sky Digital, BTyahoo Broadband and BT for telephone - not exactly difficult to beat I know. My question is I've read alot of good and bad points about homechoice but could someone tell me how they're currently doing with reference to the entire bundle above and is it worth going for if there are any/lots of hastles involved.

Thanks in advance

My experience has been good. I used to have freeview + BT + BT Broadband. Overall I'm paying about 5 quid less a month, and I'm getting a good picture (my ourdoor aerial was crap).
If you are using a wireless router, don't take the wireless option from HC as its overpriced, but if you have a wireless router with an integrated modem, you'll have to replace it with one that doesn't have a modem (I don't know why) which will cost another 50 quid.
My main hassle is recording programs. The replay service is not comprehensive enough - nothing on ITV or C4 - and I can't get my video to tape stuff.

The reason you need a router without a modem is because there is already a modem in the homechoice box.

Homechoice is much more analogous to Cable than traditional DSL for the consumer as there is a provided box which takes care of all the connectivity unlike DSL which is now provided as just the bare wire service.

I have had it for several years now and it has been very good, particularly in the last 6 months.

It keeps changing ( mostly in a good way ) - they are dedicated to upgrading and bettering services. They have some quite good programs on VOD and a number of channels you can't get with Freeview. Their customer service seems to be quite helpful and recently they just doubled the connection speed of all their broadband customers - I went from 1MB to 2MB - and were paying no more

Beware though a number of channels that are available on cable and sky are not available on homechoice and some extra channels are very expensive (high wholesale charge to HC from Sky). Also note that cable is rolling out broadband and interactive in London slowly, complete mid next year. Broadband a lot sooner.
