Im confused I have not watched Coronation Street for a few weeks. Anna tells Owen it,s over and for him to move out, Anna will not talk it through "As you would do to sort out the problem" Owen tells Anna he has got work lined up in Aberdeen, And Anna does not want Owen to go and gets tears in her eyes. What about Faye you cannot leave her,What does Anna want I am lost here .

I'll miss Owen. I dip in and out from time-to-time and I liked the character from the beginning. Anna is vile. Someone ought to slap that fishwife!

Anna knows that Owen will never love her as much as he loved Linda. She also feels that he will never forgive her for allowing Phelan to sex her.

Owen has messed up on a number of occasions and keeps bringing stress to the Windass door, and on top of the stress she's already under she feels she's better off without him. She clearly does love him but knows they are better off apart.

She wanted him out of the flat, not out of her life. Owen basically said tonight that he cannot stay if they are not together, so he's leaving. Anna is kinda pissed that he's leaving Faye, not her.

Crap storyline and plot just so Owen can get a better part elsewhere as he's fed up saying "Anna luv" every other line

I think Anna is fed up because she is losing another wage coming in. She seems to have forgotten that their circumstances have a lot to do with her son Gary. Had Gary not been so stupid, there is no way they would have lost so much.
Good on Owen for not dancing to her tune.

I don't think she is able to forget Gary's involvement in their downfall. Owen would insist on reminding her at every available opportunity.

Anna has never had much in life, I don't think material things mean much to her. She's a homebody and values family and happiness above money. She isn't perfect but I really like Anna, she reminds a bit of my own mum!

I know she has had a lot go on in her life. But Owen did make her life a lot better. I had a lot of sympathy with the character a while back, but her trying to make Faye's decisions are not on. Debbie rush plays the part very well.

The truth behind it all is that Owens rod is rather small. she's been losing interest for months, you know since Phelan went fishing and pulled out a big one

For a mature man, ourOwen is pretty dishy. It's not always about size you know!

Tell that to Anna, she's extremely picky

Phelan was a repulsive creature who looked like he stank of fags and beer.

I'm going to miss Owen!

Anna is such a simple yet complex woman.
She loves to be in control of everything, she vicious and she's a self pitying fishwife.

Great acting by Debbie Rush.

Anna is a fickle b*tch. This is the second man she has callously cast aside when she tired of him and both times she used Faye as an excuse.

I for one will really miss Owen, he was a real man, and there's not that many of them left in Corrie these days.

Exactly. It could be time for Tony Gordon to rise from the dead and wreak his revenge on those who scorned him!

That's true actually : she gave both men their marching orders and used Faye as the reason for it.

In that particular scene Anna was doing what Anna does and that is emotionally blackmail everyone around her. I was actually really annoyed at her using Faye to once again manipulate Owen, how many times have we heard her say that Faye's none of his business in not so many words?! And now because Owen wants a clean break and won't be around to be at her beck and call she uses Faye as leverage. Nasty woman who conveniently remembers everyones mistakes but her own.

Anna is a disgusting tramp with less intelligence than an amoeba. Owen's better off without her. She doesn't want him herself but she wants him near enough to be at her beck and call. Nauseating bint

With respect I must disagree. Anna might be overbearing and slightly selfish when it comes to her own needs and feelings but she ALWAYS puts her kids first. The death knell fell on her relationship because she refused to accept that Gary was integral in the family’s downfall. She never turns her back on her kids and whilst some of her actions might be misguided, I find her to be a flawed but believable character.

I despised the Phelan blackmail sex plot, it sullied Anna’s character for eternity, but she did what she had to save her family.

She isn’t perfect by any means, but she’s not disgusting or stupid. IMO.

Bib, Must say I agree. I'll never forget her treatment of poor old Roy!

That is so true, Sylvia. She got rid of the lovely Eddie because he wouldn't adopt Faye (wise man); now she is using Faye to try to use moral blackmail on Owen. I wish it was Anna and Faye leaving, and Owen was staying.

No wonder Faye feels everything is her fault (the pregnancy was of course) when Anna uses her in this way.

Faye wasn’t privy to the conversations where Anna mentioned that Owen shouldn’t abandon Faye, so she knows no better. Owen has, and will continue to assure Faye that him leaving is down to his own self pride, and nothing to do with her.

IMO Owen is acting like a petulant child. Telling Anna ‘if we can’t be together I HAVE to leave, I can’t bear to see you on a daily basis if you’re not with me’. Man up FFS. Your disabled daughter & grandson and the child you help raise and her daughter need you in Weatherfield!
