Who do you think will be the next big return. After the shock return of Kathy last month I think it's safe to say anything is possible. my bet is Zoe as there is plenty of reason to at the moment

Michelle Fowler (wish Mark hadn't died and came back with her). The Fowlers were amazing.

I'd like to see Tanya, Zainab & Janine all back on the square at some point this year. Idc if it's too soon for Janine, she's the bitch you love to hate and it just isn't the same without her.

If the rumours about the Kat and Alfie spinoff facilitating a departure from the Square, Zoe won't be coming back. The fact they used a picture of Michelle Ryan recently suggests they won't recast her. Michelle (I think) is currently filming a movie in the States.

I think Carly or Chelsea could realistically return next. Both their families are on the Square and there is plenty for them to get stuck in to.

I'd welcome any of these. Great characters

There is plenty of reason for Zainab to return in the future. Her family is still around, her exit left the door open for a reunion, and Shabnam's child is yet to be revealed.

Same with Tanya.

I am sure Janine will be back in several years and The Vic is clearly going to be on the top of her list of priorities.

I'm really disappointed they haven't brought anyone back for Jim's funeral. Especially when Dean Gaffney has said he would return. Ridiculous. Dean Gaffney should be brought back anyone, without question if the actor is up for it.

I guess it's kind of plausible that some of his grandchildren would miss the funeral, but I get this nagging feeling that Carols sudden negative memory of Jim is being played out in order to remind us that there was a time when Jim wasn't very well liked, and therefore give some characters a reason to avoid attending the funeral, easing the burden and cost of hiring in the additional actors to play them.

That said, I am glad that Carol remembers Jim warts and all, I hate how people suddenly remember the dead as martyrs when in life they were far from it!

Thanks for the reply.

They definitely aren't divorced because the actress tweeted about it, during the episode where Tamwar and Nancy kissed.

What Carol said lastnight about not pretending she can forget everything her dad did but being angry about it isn't the way forward I realised is exactly what I decided with my own dad when he died 3/4 months ago so I'm glad she said that.

I do hope so. She was the only character who worked with tamwar and I really liked her. She was criminally underused after yusefs death though.

My top 5 hopes:
Janine butcher
Zainab masood
Rainie cross (full time)
Zoe slater
Afia masood

I have to agree here. Afia was a great character played by a very competent actress & whilst she and Tamwar had some crap to deal with after Yusef got cremated, I felt it was a massive cop out just binning her off....it seemed to come completely out of the blue and since she left, it feels like Tam has been nothing but a spare part.

If Afia is due a revival, and will breathe some life into Tamwar and the Masoods as a whole, I welcome her back with open arms. Add Zainab to the mix and we’re cooking on gas!

Zainab

I doubt we will see Janine for a few more years. Charlie Brooks has bagged more work this time around then she did when she left last time.
