We as the audience are expected to gasp and think 'OMG, this guy is mental!', when really we're all shaking our heads wishing he would just do one (Even though I do find him quite interesting, I don't exactly see how they can keep him on the show).
This storyline continues to go round & round in circles and it's beyond tedious now... No doubt Nancy & Lee will just stand there gorping aswell, and give Dean some sort of dirty look. Also, not bothered about Nancy & Tamwar in the slightest, they bore me.”
BIB: I think that is where lie in the problem, aside from Dean's undesirable involvement, I know DTC wants it to be realistic, but EastEnders isn't real life and adhering to a 'real life' timescale means stories drag on, like the Lucy Beale plot which started out well and ended terribly, imo. I think personally, that Dean's comeuppance should have come before now, I think the rape should have been revealed before Christmas (a rape reveal for Christmas ratings is in bad taste, imo) and then Christmas could have coincided Mick/Shirley reveal (which I would have liked Sylvie to have inadvertently revealed over Christmas dinner) and Dean's comeuppance.
This year could have then seen the return of Buster, Stan's death, the fallout over Mick/Shirley and Linda coping with the baby and what happened with Dean. Or even back in Feb, when Shirley wavered, that should have been the turning point, maybe Shirley could have gone to Linda, they could have gained a confession out of Dean, and then Dean could have been sectioned or something. (In one of the TV mags it says that Dean doesn't believe it was rape, still.) It would have been better than watching angry Mick and worried Linda - and, would also have cut out all that faff of Dean attempting to set the Vic alight. Shirley should have been in attendance at Stan's funeral and I would rather have seen the family pulling together but bloody Dean!!
However I am loving Shirley and Buster - but I would like to see them without the shadow of Dean and I am looking forward to Vincent's return, I must be the only one though who doesn't really care about Ronnie. They may well pair up Ronnie/Vincent, they would be a formidable duo but I would actually rather see his scenes with Kim over Ronnie.
I wonder what is going to happen with Dot now...
