Who the heck says they don't want their data to roll over?

It sounds like another one of those business speak things where they say the customer wants something but really it is the company that wants it.

No different to how companies like to say that they are "simplifying" your bill to "make it less confusing", when they're really increasing prices to nice round numbers and removing anything that a 10 year old would be able to work out without a calculator

LOL, so O2 say their customers don't want large allowances or rollover, they much prefer a small allowance that they lose if they don't use.

What does that say about o2 customers? (Or at least o2's opinion of them).

Am I alone in suspecting this 'survey' of customers never took place?

Nope. I can't imagine why a single customer would rather lose the data they haven't used, than be able to roll it over...

Exactly.

Either this survey never took place or the participants were asked a series of VERY leading questions.

Next month, they will reduce their coverage - as customers have been requesting for years...

Customers requested that years ago, so O2 kept costs down by never building that 3G network

O2 say:
You’ve told us that data rollover isn’t something you want – most of you buy more data than you need. So we’re creating new data plans that are smaller and more flexible so you only pay for the data you need, when you need it.
So at face value, people dont want their data allowance to roll over and the data allowances will soon be reduced.
So for £16 i could get 1GB of data on a sim only plan - however it looks like it will soon be less data as people dont want too much data

People on O2 probably couldn't use their data so got a little miffed to see it rollover by default as they were still struggling along with 0.01Mbps on GPRS.

Or as happened to my parents, went travelling around the UK with O2 data SIMs in their tablets, and found no signal but phones (EE and Three) worked fine. O2 data SIMs were cancelled upon return.

I still have a real sweet and sour experience with O2. Where you have 4G, it's great. Where you don't, 2G and 3G is as awful as ever.

Until the whole network is upgraded, only people who never move about much should ever consider O2. And mobile broadband? Where data is the ONLY thing you're using? Forget it!!

o2 mbb payg customers have complained that 5gb of data for £30 is far two much data and have requested that be reduced to 500mb for £30

I Tweeted O2 last night;

https://twitter.com/jmcomms/status/588448785187139584

Apparently: "Data rollover isn’t something our customers really value, but if you do run out there are always bolt ons that can be added."

So there you have it.
