Whats the best UK pay as you go sim card for data roaming on the BENELUX countries?

While a local sim would be the cheapest option it wont be practical for my needs ( need a UK number on the same phone)

I know Vodafone offer 100mb of data for £3 per day, and three like home is not yet available on Holland/Belguim/Luxembourg/Germany - Three, I believe charge £5 a day to use the UK allowance

Not sure you can have a UK number without paying for roaming charges.

I have a BASE prepaid sim card and I can buy 1GB of roaming data for €25.00, local data in Belgium only is €10 for 1GB with 4G.

I would suggest the UK sim in a basic handset just for calls, and a local sim in your data enabled phone for data and everything else..

The key issue with the local sim option is that i wont have the opportunity to purchase one until im a long way into the trip.
So im looking for a UK sim with roaming

Why do you need a UK number - is it to receive calls. In which case there are other ways of doing it. When I travel abroad I usually divert my UK number to my Skype number, and then redirect Skype to the number of a local sim card abroad. This gives transparent calling of your UK number with end to end costs at local call rates.

I was travelling to the Netherlands last year quite frequently. I ended up buying a Lebara NL SIM from eBay UK. I had to call them on it when I arrived in the NL though to get it activated (they spoke English!). Once I did that though then it could all be serviced online. I think it was €10 for 1GB but 3G only.

What I would like, would be to have the opportunity to get hold of a local sim whilst out there, but that opportunity is looking highly unlikely - at least for the first two thirds of the trip anyway plus i will/may need a UK number
