That was Pat, not Cora.
Has Cora been selling her wares as well? ![]() You don't know the real Cora. You couldn't handle the real Cora. - She was bent over Arthur's bench, her goods pouring over the sides and all the men of Walford were having a go. I'm surprised the whole square didn't wake up, I'm surprised all the wives didn't realise their husbands weren't at home - the caterwauls were unbearable, like a retarded vixen in mating season. Pray for Lady Di, the perverted way in which Cora Cross treated her is of a truly unspeakable barbarity. I'm still shaken up as a type this... |

Rubbish - Ann has been a professional Actress since 1958 and had worked in theatre, film, radio and television. Ann is one of the most respected actresses in EE.

Please don't call my opinion 'Rubbish'. Longevity =/= ability. Perhaps the reason she's worked across so many mediums is that she was so bloody terrible at all of them.

If next Thursday is the last we see of Cora I will mourn her as a character and mourn the loss of Ann to the show but at the end of the day Cora like all characters in the show is a portrayal of fiction which I readily forget sometimes - that I admit. I am hoping however that this is just a break and that Cora will cross Albert Square again. Thank you to all on here who love Cora as much as I do even if it seems we are a minority these days. |

She isn't terrible to the majorities opinion. Cora may not be the most liked character but a character not being likeable is down to how they are written to be.

I love Cora and I think Ann is great.
I really dont know how Laila has lasted so long. To me her acting is dreadful. |

Cora has become one of my favourites from the current cast although she was a vile cow when she first joined the show. I think explaining her backstory in more detail has endeared her to me even though she's still an acid tongued harpy. I'll miss her if she's leaving for good.

If DTC axes an Actor of Ann's pedigree and keeps the likes of Laila Morse he needs his head testing.
Agreed about Laila's Morse though. If anyone watched her on I'm A Celebrity they'd see she just plays herself. And she can't even do that convincingly. I never got the love for this glorified extra but that's just me. |

If the actress is leaving I doubt she's been axed. DTC gave her more to do than any other EP. He made me like Cora whereas Kirkwood and Newman made me hate her.

Broken Arrow, my source has heard nothing from Ann whom he has known for forty years that she is leaving but I wish EE would make a statement as Cora is not Aleks, she has been a regular character for four years and part of the Branning Family- if Ann is leaving for good why has there been no statement from EE?

There is no debate here that Ann Mitchell is a good actress. The character however has no purpose on the show. She was given family which didn't work out. She has no real friends that like her or family that bother with her anymore. Stan died before marrying her so it's not like the Carter's are obliged to care for her or look out for her.
Vaslav I appreciate you are a fan of Ann Mitchell (quite rightly so) but the character in my opinion is stale and past her best. She would have worked better as a recurring character like Elaine Peacock. A lot of people like it when Elaine visits as she is a good character in small doses. You must appreciate other people's opinions and can't get angry and irate when people do not agree with you. I happen to agree with you on several issues such as Alfie Moon desperately needing axed as well as Big Mo who is only ever used as some sort of "comic relief". At least you are now acknowledging that you forget that soaps are fiction sometime as you can come across really OTT and too much especially on certain issues. I admit that I can be harsh on you but when you see someone who knows their stuff regurgitating the same stuff everyday it really annoys me. |

No doubt Geek & Night are looking forward to next week if it is an exit- I have blocked them so cannot read their comments.
