Welcome to the DS Carter Worship Thread. Here is a special haven where you will be able to voice every positive thing you have to say about the Carters, but you must only do it here, so as not to offend the dirty invalid opinions of anybody who doesn't like the Carter family from EastEnders.

Rules

1. Everybody must refer to DTC as God as he can do no wrong and any blasphemy against him will not be accepted.

2. Every post must be positive. That means if there is something you dislike about the Carters, you must give your utmost efforts to conceal such sinful beliefs.

3. Respect your Carter-loving brethren . We are all here for one cause and one cause only. To give praise to the most legendary, iconic and revered family to have ever graced a soap.

This thread should be fun!..... As long as everybody adheres to the rules!

Well done. I just hope I don't still have to put up with reading things like, "Shirley is the most fascinating character in Eastenders history" or "Mick is the worlds best husband" or "The Carters are a breath of fresh air" in ANY other thread. If anybody has anything positive to say it should be kept here so as not to clutter up the forum.

Lee, Nancy, Tina and babe are all still brilliant character and I love Johnny! I wish he'd return and be used properly.

The rape storyline has been such a success! I love the sensitive way in which an issue based storyline has been exploited for shocking and controversial drama!

You know what GI. Respect for people's opinions on the carters works both ways. Yes intolerance of people who don't like them is ridiculous and rude but so too are those who scorn anyone who likes them

Oh deary me. This is all getting a bit over the top for opinions on a soap family. It does seem like instead of a 'positive' thread, it's a 'take the p***' thread. Why can't everyone just respect each others opinions?

I kind of agree about this thread being more a take the p**s sort but that's some users for you. My thread is more to stop these constant ones showing up by being about them all and all their storylines. Those who don't like it have the choice not to read it. But still the family do have some good points but a held down but mock,
Linda, Shirley overuse (Linda's exposure has improved though) and Dean being free.

I don't think I scorn anyone for liking the Carters, if you think you have seen this from me then I apologise and I also don't think I have seen any hatred for posters who like the Carters. I just don't like those who try to control and censor what people think, because they "see so much of it" and it is "boring and tedious" for them.

No Ell! Stop being so negative. This is a well-intentioned thread. It is a positive thread and only negative if you choose to see it that way. Why can't we all just have fun basking in the glorious televisual light of the Carter Family - hallowed be their surname!

We're not censoring. People are sick of negative Carter threads so I created on. Those who don't want to bash or like the carters and don't want to her negative opinions on them they don't have to open the thread. This thread is the opposite but still a tale the piss type. But in honestly couldn't care if a Positive Carter thread was also around.

I enjoy the dynamics of the carters if I'm honest. They all fit perfectly and have great chemistry. Mick and Linda are my favourites

I agree. I think this thread was unnecessary. Those of us who like the Carters don't necessarily think they are the be all end all of Eastenders or not hold/accept any criticism about them. I've been posting less recently because I personally feel as though I'm being mocked for still being interested in any of the Carter stories because some posters hold the assumptions that these are my feelings. It's not true, and I'm tired of being written off because I'm a "Carter lover."

Speaking only for myself, I like reading thoughtful praise and criticism of all characters regardless of my feelings on said characters. I like getting a different perspective. It's the posters who present their opinions on a character or storyline as fact, as well as assumption that because I like the Carters that I love all of their stories and have no interest in anyone/anything else that leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Opinions are not facts - and I like the Carters - so shoot me.

The rape storyline is awful but it's been well acted imo.

Tina is my favourite Carter.

I like her and Sonia's relationship. It feels genuine.

Edit: I would've said something humorous and sarcastic about this thread, but I couldn't think of anything to say and I didn't want the fuss that would come after it. Good thread though, GI. I can sense the humorism.

I also love their relationship! It's incredibly beautiful and touching and as you say very genuine. It's not as if they are together, because they are the only two lesbians on the show. Team Sonina till I die.

They met each other by chance, and only by chance! Sonia swum through a pool of lesbians to find Tina. Nobody would've known they'd be together this time last year.

I'm all for some light-hearted fun, but my patience on this subject has sort of run dry after being dismissed and/or disrespected the first 200 times. I'm not directing this at you GI, but this has been happening an awful lot in this forum lately, and I'm far from the only recipient.
