I think a gay man's gaydar is pretty good and I am sensing that Kris is gay.
Either the ambiguity in the article is hiding the gay secret or it is just playing with our minds to make us think he is gay when he isn't

Maybe you're right but we won't know until a) we see who Paul is hooked up with and b) we meet Kris's partner.

"being comfortable with exactly who he is" and no comment about him "having an eye for the ladies" are the two biggest clues that if not gay, he is probably at least bisexual.
Either that or he's screamingly camp, but not gay.
No non-camp straight cis man is ever described as being comfortable with exactly who he is.

Kris is not trans, he is Kristopher a man and played by a man- Jonathan Broadbent.

The actor seems to be gay in real life going by his Twitter @jonnylabey and he is another musical singer DTC has hired he is also flat mates with Daniel Brocklebank aka Billy Mayhew Sean's boyfriend in Corrie. Think he is definely playing Bens new boyfriend.
Pam and Les mentioned something about Paul and good Friday I hope this throw away line isn't forgotten about.

Lola, Whitney, Masood & Jay are all good characters but have been largely ignored.
Lee, Nancy & Tamwar have had zero development.
There are some right idiots on Facebook in relation to this. The BBC page for Esatenders posted his picture, and a link giving more info, including the fact that he is the grandson of the Cokers. Thats all the context you need
