God no. Character was annoying, actor mediocre, relationship with Anna about as interesting as watching paint dry. Won't be missed.

Yes..I do agree..but I don't think C/S had any option the actor asked to leave...but the door is being left open for him to return...which he said he will ..in time....

I didn't like 0wen at first, but he was probably the best actor in Corrie. Most of the others are fifth rate.

I agree. I like the actor.
He should have stayed; Anna and Faye should go, far, far away.

I'm pleased he's gone just wish he'd have taken Anna with him.

Really good actor but character was not best served over the past 12 months.

This is so true, I often disliked the Owen the person, but felt a great loss when he left, which is a mark of a great actor, while the character was flawed and some times greatly unlikeable Ian Puleston-Davies was always a consistent and compelling actor IMO. I wish him well and hope he comes back

Not before appearing in an array of forhcoming detective shows, no doubt.

I'm still waiting for Bradley Walsh to come back!!

It was Ian Puleston-Davies decision not to renew his contract - which is his right.

The actor choose to leave, he was not "let go" and there wasn't really anything TPTB can do - they can't force you to sign a new contract.

Ian Puleston-Davies is a good actor. I've seen him another drama and enjoyed his performance. He decided to leave Corrie so that's that. I would like to see him as a detective in Scott and Bailey. I think he left at the right time for his character. Maybe he got bored. Corrie bosses have left the door open for him so you never know!

I think he was a good actor. He would make a cracking lead in a detective series. Like someone who seems inept but turns out to be really observant and shrewd like Columbo.

I liked Owen - although he certainly made it difficult for me to like him at times but, like Anna, he was flawed and so seemed real. Don't blame him for leaving though, the show is in freefall and the actor can do better.

I grew to like the Owen character and I hope he will be back.

He did change a lot though, he went from belting Faye to being the best step father in the world ever, which I found a bit odd.

He was a miserable sod with double standards. In the beginning he worked well with Anna but they've had too many story lines / problems. They just became more unlikeable with every miserable story line. The whinging, the bullying and the misery has been nonstop

- Owen constantly criticising Gary led to the poor bloke getting battered by Roy Cropper

- He was even more annoying when he discovered Anna had been Phelaned

- The most unbelievable thing was him choosing misery guts Anna Whinge-arse over the very classy Linda.

Goodbye and good riddance, Optimistic Owen. Only bother coming back if you've got Linda with you.

On the soap movers page it says Owen is leaving in summer 2015, maybe its a typo or Corrie changed the schedule but maybe we haven't seen the last of Owen.
