Any thoughts? Not very high views on the video. I wonder if she left it too long to put a first album out, she was on X Factor in 2009...

I like the song, but I think maybe her ship has sailed? (And though it's mean of me, I think those new teeth of hers were a mistake. To me, they sound like they're too big for her mouth and she is having to try and work around that.)

I like the song very much but like you, I think she will struggle to have a solo career, 6 years is a long time. But again, I like the song, I'm interested on hearing her album.

I think she actually looks nice in that video but the song was bland.

Think she should concentrate on having a media career and drop the music idea.

The song is nice enough but she needed to come out with something a bit less 'middle of the road' to make an impression. Her voice, however, is actually really good on the track. The husky high note is wow.

She was never my cup of tea and like others have said, its a bland song. I was bored halfway through it. I just don't get why she waited 5 / 6 years to even release a single. I was sure she would in 2010 [2011 at the very latest]. im kinda thinking well why now??

I was asking myself the same question. BBC Radio 2 have been promoting it though.

She was on Weekend Brunch (Grand National Special) last week and she said that she wanted to take her time to release her debut album. This was because she could rid herself of the association of The X Factor and to avoid a rush-release with a string of covers.

Not a bad song at all, but she's really left it far too long to stand even half a chance.

Good points. I like Stacey. I think she can sing and seems like a nice woman. However, why on earth has she left it so late? She should have tried to make a singing career earlier, rather than making reality TV her first option. She only has herself to blame, if she flops badly. Sorry.

I understand taking time, about a year or two, but six years? Haha.

She has a nice voice but her dippy personality kills any enjoyment I might get from her singing.

I dont care if she has left it six years. So what. Shes been doing other things, TV stuff, raising kids.
As far as the song is concerned, she does a pretty good job of it. Not terrific, but not bad. The only thing the comes to mind is that this song could have been perfect if they had offered it to Rebecca Ferguson. With her very bluesy voice and style, It would really have suited her. But Stacey does an ok job of it.

Jesus, did anyone hear her murdering I Walk the Line on Wogan yesterady?
wimpy, baby girlie voice does not lend itself to a Johnny Cash classic.

I love this song, she has an incredible voice.

BUT .... the video is just daft.

Don't understand what the issue is with her leaving it 6 years though

Nice song and voice (and I've just bought the album) but I can't see it being successful as she left it too late to release it. If she had released music in 2010/11 it might have been more successful.

Well, it's just that X Factor singers tend to strike while there is still high interest in them. There have been several batches of XF singers after her, and Stacey's fanbase will largely have moved on by now. I looked at her X Factor forum fan thread a week ago and it barely gets updated, even now she has things to promote.

I didn't hear it, but I still cringe thinking about Leona's cover of 'Hurt'

I heard the song on the radio the other day, and I quite like it. Seriously though, the video must be the worst in the history of mankind (and the cheapest!).

Like Amy Winehouse, if you removed the soul, drugs and pain.

I see what you mean, to a degree. But I wasn't a fan of hers when she was on the X Factor, but I love this song for what it is, a good song from a talented singer.

Surely with enough airplay (I listen to Radio 2 and it's on their A List, I think, so it's on quite often)...it could become a hit? I think it would appeal to older people than her original X Factor fan base anyway, that's just my opinion though.
