If she has seen him on TV then she will know how hard he is working for the Party as a whole.

Back to the polls and in this case it's some of Lord Ashcroft's very recent marginal constituency polls:

Battersea - Conservatives leading - no change: http://lordashcroftpolls.com/2015/05/battersea/

North Cornwall - Lib Dems leading - no change: http://lordashcroftpolls.com/2015/05/north-cornwall-3/

Norwich North - Labour now ahead: http://lordashcroftpolls.com/2015/05/norwich-north-2/

Peterborough - Labour now ahead: http://lordashcroftpolls.com/2015/05/peterborough/

Wirral West - Labour now ahead: http://lordashcroftpolls.com/2015/05/wirral-west/
”

Didn't think Labour had a chance in Peterborough. Would be fantastic to see ultra obnoxious Stewart Jackson thrown out.

Labour are taking over the marginal seats

Far too early to say that. I clicked on two of the above and there was 2% in it.

Let us hope it remains so.

In two of those gains it only takes a small swing back from UKIP for the seat to stay blue.

However, the most recent national opinion polling has indicated an increase of a couple of percentage points overall to UKIP (see http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/) which makes individual outcomes so difficult to predict because it's yet another variable in an already complex election battle.

Interesting piece on why you shouldn't assume anything from the Ashcroft polls.

http://www.newstatesman.com/politics...ft-polls-wrong

Also gives the impression Labour's internal polling isn't so good

The New Statesmen article just references canvassing data more so than internal polling. Still, I think the overwhelming impression from the article is that Labour's 'data' - whatever it is, is telling them they won't be the largest party in a hung parliament. This backed up by Labour telling media sources - particularly The Times that they expect to be 5-10 seats behind the Conservative party.

I must say the reliance on Ashcroft puzzles me. He's effectively untested outwith the Tory party.

Nevertheless, Lord Ashcroft's polls do follow established polling methodologies and I was even rung up one evening a few months ago by one of his polling staff in respect of the constituency where l live and the questions asked were logical and not leading ones.

True.

I'm just personally weary of them.

to be fair Clegg is the deputy pm, i'm not Hallam really can be compared to the other seats Ashcroft has polled except for Farage and some of the Scottish ones

BTW back to Hallam, Coppard is 8 votes ahead of Clegg when you take out the undecided voters

Perhaps, but he's the only pollster with the resources and willingness to poll such large numbers of marginal seats.

Just wanted to say that i've officially had enough of the campaign now - if I have to hear about "how we are fighting to win a majority" one more time I'm going to lose my mind. Russell Brand was the last straw.

So i'll be back on the forum at 21:55 on Thursday ready to discuss the exit polls.

Good luck everyone!

Don't always believe what you see on the news.

I think there is a good chance that the Conservatives/LibDems will be able to form a government again.

Whether they actually will I don't know.

I will make my own mind up thanks. The article you posted is clearly biased.

Never mind the article, look at the picture. There are barely 40 people there and half of them are media. Mob rule or mass scuffle it is not!

I suppose you see what you want to see. Do you think the media coverage is unbiased?

Rumours on political betting that tonights you gov poll is not a 1% lead for either party so its either tied again or a 2% lead for one of them

Independent newspaper has come out in favour of another Con/Lib Dem coalition

Yes, I have a sinking feeling that that might be the case too. The mere thought of it makes me feel sick.

When things like this start to excite us, it's a sign that we need to get a new hobby....

So when is it out?
