Is this statistical evidence from the esteemed polling companies? Those premier organisations who extrapolate what the media want their narrative to be. Surely if May taught us anything it was don't be led by the nose to believe the commentary being generated. By using statistics / polls it allowed the media to anchor their commentary in fact. Of course it wasn't fact at all and those people who actually rose above and used good old common sense / experience / nous were closer to reality.
Which people were these, then? And how come we never heard a dicky-bird out of them in the run up to the election?

BIB - Ridiculous.

That would be a large increase for UKIP from 2015. 4% or something like that.

The Brightside by election may give us an idea of how much their support has improved since Oldham West.

doesn't surprise in the least. Worst its going to get
when someone from labour called me to find out why I quit the party
now is the perfect Time for labour to be really putting pressure on the Government with clear tensions over the EU Vote.

There's no shape on them. They have no attack strategy again today labour on the defensive about the treatment of Muslim female members

Oh dear, looks like Corbyn's new politics is not attracting the masses.

Council elections, the Scottish elections and the by-election will be interesting.

Of course he will not, he just appeals to the Labour die-hards and will attract virtually no extra support from anywhere else, I do believe he has lost support from the Labour die-hards too, obvious from the recent opinion polls.

I feel sorry for people who have been loyal Labour supporters for years who now feel so alienated by Corbyn's antics.

His latest wheeze is to turn local councils into entrepreneurs borrowing to invest and supplying gas electricity and water to the locale. Barking mad, the economics of a raving lunatic..

He told the Association of Labour Councillors conference he wants councils to become "public entrepreneurs" with greater freedom to spend taxpayers' money and to borrow to fund investment and public services.

He said English councils should have similar powers to cities on the continent, where local authorities have control of water and energy services.

"We will give councils greater freedoms to roll back the tide of forced privatisation.

This presumably is his way of winning council seats in May.

Trouble with Corbyn is he is too wrapped in is comfort blanket. He preaches to the converted and seems to be doing nothing to attract the middle ground. He needs to go and quick.

Labour seem to be ensconced in their own little bubble, and are unable (or unwilling) to react to, or take advantage of, external events with any degree of confidence.

Despite the increase in UKIP's share in this poll, I think the Sheffield Brightside by-election will be delayed until May 5th. The voters have Council elections that day, the EU referendum potentially as soon as June 23rd. Even if the EU referendum is delayed until September, I think voters would find it irritating having votes on 3 different dates in such a short time.

I don't find it irritating at all.

its been very telling not seeing lead cheerleader Owen Jones on just about anything that will have him. Same with Diane Abbot I wonder if the penny dropped they are both doing more harm than good. Because the more they try and suggest his direction is for the best holy hell seems to erupt within a few hours.

Irritating? It only takes a few minutes to vote.

It's a safe Labour seat. Most of the voters are just too lazy!

British media 'most right-wing' in Europe, YouGov survey finds

Readers also ranked the British press as the 'most biased' in the countries surveyed The company polled people from seven major European nations to find out how they perceived the press in their own countries. They found that 26 per cent of Britons viewed their newspapers, TV and radio as "too right-wing", more than in any of the other nations surveyed.
NO!!! really? I am shocked,..................... shocked that it needed a damn poll.

So 74% think it's either not right-wing or possibly too left-wing then. Of those polled.

Yawn. This is more tiresome than the Superb Owl.

It is a rather strange story although I see that they seem to have had more luck with finding a definite bias at the BBC

"An analysis in 2013 claimed to have found statistical evidence for left-wing bias at the BBC, saying in only 10% of reports on stories by left-wing think tanks did the BBC qualify the findings with a 'health warning' about the think tank’s views, ideological position, or connection to a political figure. However it claimed the warning appeared in 25% to 60% of reports on research by right-wing sources, and was less likely to give them any coverage at all."

Anyone who can't see how much bias and weighted to the right the media in general is in this country really does need to check themselves.

Because Corbyn is effectively the leader of Stop the War, not Labour . His policy priority has been disarmament, interrupted a couple of days ago by calling for a debate to stop any action against ISIS in Libya. While he keeps on talking about ballistic missile subs with no Ballistic missiles on them , he just provides background comedy - that derails any policy messages.

Even when a few policies leak out - like making local councils responsible for local energy and utilities , they just join the list of obviously silly ideas.Or Today tehre's leaks about how Momentum is planning to control Labour.
