I'd love to have a chat with the UKIP supporters voting to stay in.

The mood at Westminster has recently turned especially bleak among Labour MPs, concerned that the party’s arguments for remaining in Europe are not connecting with its own voters. The latest telephone poll suggests that remain is still the preferred choice of Labour voters, by 58% to 38%.

However, this balance is not sufficiently emphatic to overpower the combination of a slight 49%-47% edge for leave among the Tories, and a crushing 97% to 2% preference for leave among Ukip supporters.

Breaking down the population between generations confirms that Eurosceptism sets in with age: among the young, aged 18 to 34, the balance is 56% to 39% for remaining, whereas pensioners of 65 and over lean, by 55% to 39%, the other way.

Voters in professional “AB” grade occupations are, by 57% to 38%, strongly in favour of staying in Europe, whereas skilled manual workers – the so-called C2s – are plumping for leave by an emphatic 67% to 29%.”

2% of UKIP supporters want to Remain? Anyone ask them why they support UKIP?

Seems the "shy Brexiters" who were causing the phone polls to favour remain quite heavily are throwing away their veils and are out and proud.

Quite pleased about the tanking of the pound in one sense as my brother works in the Netherlands and has seen his effective salary in pounds increase over recent months.

Meanwhile I am also quite chuffed that it seems that the European question is finally going to detonate in the Tory Party's lap. Sales of popcorn through the roof.

And there it is: "whereas skilled manual workers, the so-called C2s – are plumping for leave by an emphatic 67% to 29%."
The people and their families most stitched up by the EU. 'Traditional' Labour voters like I was.

The pound tanking is never good news. It means the cost of living goes up for a start!

Not sure why anyone would celebrate that.

The undecideds appear to be deciding.

Leave just at that crucial 50%.

I am not celebrating. I am just pointing out that some will gain from this.

I earn much more than I spend so it really doesn't bother me either way.

Well I suppose if you are rich its all fine and dandy but if you have a young family on the bred line its a different matter.

what a contrast in both campaigns today - saw Boris and the Leave campaign outside the bus talking to the public and some guys turned up in Boris masks to try and heckle then you get the remain team with Gordon Brown inside talking to Remainers! its as if they are scared to meet the public

What next for the Remain campaign? They seemed to have issued every threat and wheeled out every panicking wealthy business owner worried about their profits. They have threatened pensioners, predicted World War 3 and the end of Western Civilisation, called all Brexiters racist... and it's not working.

How can they turn this around?

With that ORB poll giving Leave 10% lead and now ICM with a 6% leave how anyone can say the momentum is not with Leave is beyond me

Well Brown is a former is PM so is assigned a security team at all times unlike Boris. So maybe Brown was advised against campaigning on the street because the security he has didn't feel comfortable with it.

I think ordinary man and woman joe public have just had enough and want to give the establishment a wake up call that we are their masters not the other way around and I say this as a Tory supporter (please no boos or hiss) We have been lied at tiem and agin during the campaign - yes im sure by both sides but the politicians refuse to accept that there are genuine concerns in the country (without being called names ) about the way it is going and unable to stop it but now we can

I just wonder what will happen should we Brexit and then everything the Remainers claimed happened. So many experts independent from government have issued warnings. They all can't be wrong.

I read an interesting piece about how people have become caught up in national pride. I think this is what has happened. Lets see how happy people are when we leave the EU and nothing much changes. The Tories are not going to start investing 350 a day into the NHS so those caught up in that lie have been conned.

I have to laugh at Johnson today claiming the EU was behind the pasty tax.. I mean people are falling for this.

Thats fine but why go and give a speech to those who have already decided - its the undecideds and even the leavers he needs to be speaking to

Absolutely. Seeing the end of that gravy train is worth voting out in itself.

It has been clear for months that this thing would be very close. So best we get it out the way now, and while the Tory protagonists are in charge, so that, for better or for worse, the right bunch of political chancers get their just desserts in the aftermath.

Craziest move ever. Those of us who had a life pre-EU are the children of the 2nd World War children (who are voting out with us). It's ingrained in us to take no shyte.
