Can we calm down folks? DS have already warned us this thread will be closed of things continue to be personal in here.

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=2234

Can we try our best to keep it to discussing the polls and not each other?

Well said. This thread has gone seriously off topic in recent posts and turned into a glorified slanging match

Like the others have said, please try and keep the thread on-topic. Yet again the thread is getting derailed. If we can't get back to discussing opinion polls we'll start issuing warnings and temporary bans for disruption. Thank you.

I'm not able to really predict the figures but I'm expecting a very late Tory surge that may not be picked up by the opinion polls. Enough to give them the most seats and the most votes nationally. What happens after that all depends on the Lib Dems.

I think they'll be roughly 3-4% ahead, I have no idea how that will convert into seats but I'd guess it would make them the largest party, unsure whether it would give them the numbers to get a queen speech through though.

I'm of the opposite view. Now its becoming apparent Tory/Lib Dem and Labour voters in Scotland are doing an anti SNP block vote I think Labour and the Lib Dems will hold on to more seats up there than people expect. If Labour can keep at least 25 seats in Scotland (some of the swings the SNP need seem impossible) and win the expected 30 seats they are hoping to gain in England they could push ahead by as little as 3 or 4 seats.

The thing to remember is that its only because of the SNP that Labour aren't on 38% in the polls. If they hadn't of risen Labour would be on cause to win this election with ease. So its all about Scotland and if the pollsters really have picked up the general voting intentions.

But if it wasn't for Labour's failing the SNP wouldn't have risen in the first place

Labour didn't fail. They put their backing into the union and campaigned with the Tories to keep Scotland in the UK.

That is what damaged them. Some on here just don't understand Scottish politics at all.

I do. I live here. The people who have moved from Labour to SNP are saying Labour have failed them.

They couldn't come up with a case for union that the majority of their core vote could by into.

That constitutes a failure

I doubt it. Its all hyperbowl. The exact same SNP rhetoric we had before the indy ref. The SNP have always been good at planting people on social media to sell their cause.

You watch. We will be here on Friday talking about just how wrong the polls in Scotland were.

Due to reliance on Tory and Lib Dem voters.

They couldn't win in one of their biggest strongholds in the country in the UK in Glasgow.

It was the equivalent of the Tories say losing Buckinghamshire

The polls in Scotland will be off. I have not seen anyone seriously suggesting a clean sweep will happen. Most SNP supporters think 40 seats is the upper limit.

The same Tory/Lib Dem voters who are working with Labour to block the SNP.

So you do agree with what I wrote after all then!

Certain seats they are completely unable to win. People have got carried away.

What people have got confused with is the SNP membership surge after the indy ref. up to 80% of those new members will have always been pro independence and most likely nationalists, they just weren't SNP members until that point.

And as I said above, no supporters know how to use social media better than those of the SNP. So it paints a false picture.

Like Lord Ashcroft? I think SNP will get at least 40 seats, if not more.

Sturgeon said this morning that she doubts that they will win all of the seats. There are one or two that I hope are SNP wins.

Which seats do you think they are completely unable to win?

Which ones? I have four that I hope they win. I don't think they will win my own constituency.

Nor mine. Michael Moore's constituency. I have a horrible feel it will go to the Tory (who does not use the word Conservative on any of his election material!)

The Liberal Democrat Oil and Gas Emirate of Orkney and Shetland. But that is the only one that definitely won't go SNP.

Anything beyond that - we will find out Friday.

For what its worth and to make this clear. I want the SNP to do well. Westminster needed a good kick up the ass and it needed bringing forward to reflect the change of politics across the UK. I'd much prefer, and trust, the SNP in power than I ever would UKIP.
